Hi everyone and welcome to my LIFE.. I'm a 69 year old, happily married woman living in Central Fl. and am a Mom to our feline fur kid, Max. I am a saxophonist, and I play in St. Mary's Episcopal Church's "House Band" as our Bishop named us.I've been a member of Spark since August 6, 2006. When I joined Spark, I weighed 150 pounds which was the most I ever weighed. My weight today is 135. I have to watch my weight since I was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes in June of 2015. So far I'm not on medication, and I hope to keep it that way. Then in September of 2017 I was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA) and I am on methotrexate for that. It is impereative I keep my joints moving. My hands are my biggest concern as I want to continue playing my sax. I'm trusting God to help me with this.

I am starting a challenge to do at least10 minutes of exercise 5 days a week. I have a friend who will be with me for at least 2 classes at the Wellness Center. We have a day where we each take a different class. They are all Silver Sneakers Classes and are great. Such fun but a good workout at the same time. On the days I don't go to the center, I'm planning on walking 10 minutes on my treadmill here at at home.
Here are a few of my favorite music quotations.

"Music is the prayer the heart sings." Unknown

"Music is a moral law. It gives soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination, and charm and gaiety to life and to everything." - Plato

"Music is your own experience, your thoughts, your wisdom. If you don't live it, it won't come out of your horn."... Charlie Parker
A Cat's Prayer

Now I lay me down to sleep,
I pray this cushy life to keep.
I pray for toys that look like mice,
And sofa cushions, soft and nice.
I pray for gourmet kitty snacks,
And someone nice to scratch my back,
For windowsills all warm and bright,
For shadows to explore at night.
I pray I'll always stay real cool
And keep the secret feline rule
To NEVER tell a human that
The world is really ruled by CATS!
