My Mom (on the right), my inspiration and motivation. She had such a great sense of humor and she always "got things done." Nothing ever stood in her way. She was a blessing to all those who knew her, and who were served by her through her years of oncology nursing. The young girl with her is a congregation member who she supported during her own battle with cancer.

This will be a new start for me! I have an amazing husband and daughter. My whole family, my Dad, sisters, husband and daughter are all really thin, and always have been. That is why I'm looking to this group for support and empathy.

I recently lost my Mom to breast cancer, she was only 53. Her heart disease complicated the treatments significantly. Her Mom also had breast cancer, and her brother died of cancer when he was 35. I want to be here longer than that for my own daughter, so that is the main motivation for me to create a life change, right now. She was a brave woman, a fighter, and I need to look to her and God for inspiration.

Once I have lost 10 pounds, I will schedule some type of spa treatment for myself, most likely a haircut. I need it.

After 20 lbs. I will buy the Nintendo Wii my family has been bugging me for. (They don't have to know it's really for me...)

At 30 lbs. lost I will schedule a half day at a spa. I think it's been years since I've done something like that.

At 40 lbs. I will be out of most of my "fat clothes" and will pick up a few new things. (I may need another job to support my rewards! Although SparkPeople is free...)

At 50 lbs. I will schedule another spa day.

At 60 lbs. I will plan a weekend away for my husband and I.

At 70 lbs. I will pass out and die of shock. haha! Just Kidding. But I don't remember the last time I was this weight. I will probably need a few clothing items.

At 80 lbs. lost I will pick up a few more clothing items.

At 87 lbs. - goal met - I will cry and dance for joy.
