Exercise is not an option for me. If I don't exercise, it's back to the wheelchair. What a motivator!
I have an incurable neuro disease called RSD (or CRPS) which causes severe pain in your limbs and your muscles atrophy. It's a fairly rare disease but more common than MS although most people aren't aware of it.
I can keep my pain levels tolerable by taking my meds and exercising daily. If I skip exercise for more than a few days my pain triples!! It keeps me off the couch.

WELL I'M BACK!!! PART 2 (January 2017)
I've been off spark people for about 2 years:( I've had more health challenges that basically grounded me. They didn't kill me though and with a few good doctors I am on my way back to being my old self. The docs said it will take me at least a year
to recovery energy and physical ability. Challenges don't scare me so I will take all the support I can get!

Fitness Minutes: 8,793

My Goals:
I need to lose a minimum of 42 more pounds. I need to watch my potassium levels, keeping it above 4.0 mEq/L as they tend to get too low due to diet. I want to increase my walking ability to one day walk a 5k.
I am back on my low carb eating plan and relearning to exercise. My walking ability tops out at about a block and my cycling is now 10 minutes. Haven't been to the gym in a year and a half! I need to lose close to a hundred pounds. I've done it once before so I know it's possible!

My Program:
Maintaining my formal gym routine 3 days per week minimum. Carefully adding light weights in September. Gardening and walking on off days for variety. Keep eating clean, lower carb foods, keep my potassium levels up w/o high carb foods. More soy protein than animal protein.
Mindful eating at all times. Continue monthly dr. appt for metabolism supplements for thyroid issues.

My name is Sandy Pudoff, I live in North East Florida but I am from Aptos, California which is a small resort town on the Monterey Bay coast in central California. It's a great place to be from, but I prefer living in the south now.

Other Information:
I love my family, especially my grandkids because they need me more. I enjoy people, I make artisan jewelry for therapy and give it as gifts. I enjoy boating, swimming, reading, excellent food.

    Hi Sandy! I have CRPS too. I joined Spark just recently as my weight and all those numbers doctors like were creeping up to the point where I was going to have to deal with additional health issues and I just don't have the energy for diabetes on top of everything else, you know? So here I am trying to figure out how to reverse that trend without losing my ability to cope with CRPS at the same time. Tricky! Nice to meet a CRPS person who has increased her activity level so dramatically. I appreciate knowing it is possible!

    Good for you Sandy!!! I need a hip replacement and am exercising as much as I can to get stronger for my surgery, and my best friend has fibro. I am her major support, and would like to support you too!!!

    Just wondering what types of exercise you do. I did more walking yesterday and today going to doctor appointments and my feet, knees, hips and back are screaming in pain because of it.

    I think I should exercise, even sitting exercise videos, more. Like every day. instead of every week. Lazy holding me back. Pixie luscious suggested doing today things our future self will thank us for. Got to change my lazy ways.

    What do you do for fun? Just looking for ideas. I feel like I don't do anything just for fun anymore.
