Hello everyone!!
I can't believe I'm saying this but I am really happy to be here and I feel, for the first time in years, that I am taking back control of my life rather than my weight controlling me!!
I have such a good life and I hope to conquer this last challenge........... Good luck to all & I hope to meet you somewhere along the journey
Sandie x

My Goals:
1. Drink more water
2. Enjoy an out door activity every day
3. Take the weight off
4. Keep the weight off
5. Laugh at least once every day
6. Learn to like myself & appreciate what I have
7. Stop thinking 'it's all or nothing' & understand life happening is not my failure
8. Start Pilates classes
9. Ride my push bike once a week
10. Every success will be rewarded without the use of food or drink

My Program:
Take every day as it comes and stop being a perfectionist. If I have a bad day FORGIVE MYSELF xx

Personal Information:
I have been with my Husband for 20 years. We have 4 grown up children living in different parts of the world. My life in so many ways has been blessed & I know it. We are 54 years old, retired (& have been for 2 years) living in the most beautiful part of Turkey.

Other Information:
My hobbies are travelling, walking, my new puppy Tess, reading, gardening & I am starting a Pilates class on Monday 02/03/09.
We have just returned from a 12 week visit to see Michaela, our daughter, & her family in New Zealand. All my good weight loss efforts before the trip have unfortunately gone now & I am starting SP again 12lb heavier than when I started months ago. I know this is due to emotional eating (I'm really not sure when I will see them again) but I feel it is time to stop the self pity again and try to be the best me I can.
Summer is just around the corner friends so my goal is to enjoy it at least 2 stone lighter than I am now.

    emoticon Hi Sandie!
How's things going for you today?
I'm excited and eager to lose weight to get fit.
I'm so glad to be motivated again, it took a long time, but finally I'm inspired. Some people just want to get sexy; not me...I just want to get healthy.

    Keep on keeping on!

Whatever your personal goals are and whatever you do today...do it for YOU! Your worth it!

    Hi again!

I must apologize for neglecting you these last few months...I've been really slack this summer and now into fall...oh I've been mindful of my food intake...but I have to admit that I haven't been restricting myself the way I should have been. Now to pay the piper! Oy! But I must say that the time has passed quickly and I now find it too cold to do too much outside (I'm a wimp) so I should have more time for sparkpeople.

I seen this tip recently in some publication and thought it noteworthy to share and try:

Add this to your rice and curb your appetite all day long...

Shrink your appetite, your calorie intake, and your pants size with just one little addition to your rice: vegetables.

In a recent study of normal-weight people, mixing vegetables into a plain rice dish at lunch helped people feel fuller for the rest of the day. So much so that they ate way fewer calories at dinner than the folks who had their rice straight up.

    Have a super wonderful week!

Just popping in to say "Hi" and share some valuable information that you may or may not already know! If you know it already then pass it on to someone else cuz it's great info.

I knew Almonds were good for you...but I didn't know how good!
Just 1/4 cup of almonds contains nearly 25% of your needed daily value of the important nutrient magnesium, plus is rich in potassium, manganese, copper, the antioxidants vitamin E and selenium, and calcium (Almost as much calcium as a quarter cup of milk).

Almonds are good for the colon and the best nut for lowering cholesterol because 70 percent of the fat they contain is the healthy monounsaturated variety (which has been shown to help unclog arteries).

I hope you are having a great week and things are going well for you. Let me know how things really are going for you.
