each day is a fresh start. if i mess up today, i will do better tomorrow. i can do this. i will do this. i must do this. i will concentrate on today. i can't worry about the mistakes i may have made yesterday nor the ones i may make tomorrow; only the ones i can avoid today. as i recently celebrated my 62nd birthday, i have renewed my commitment to living a more healthy life. i have a grandchild coming soon with whom i want to be able to play and help babysit. i need to be healthy & fit to be able to do that. physically, other than my weight, i am a healthy person. my issues are all psychological and they often interfere with my plans. that's okay, though, because i have little control over that and i have to adapt to living this way. each day is a new day!

My Goals:
i want to lose enough weight to feel healthy and energetic again.

i want to be able to look in the mirror and not be ashamed of the person looking back at me.

i want my husband to be proud to be seen with me.

i want to feel sexy in my clothes.

i want to be proud of myself!

starting weight: 1/01/18--149.4

goal weight: 6/30/18--130.0


My Program:
i did well with wwpp, until i fell off that wagon. i tried intermittent fasting, but it didn't fit well with my lifestyle. i reset my sp program on 1/1/17 and am going back to weighing and measuring. it's hard work, but it everything worthwhile is.

exercise is varied. i am working up to getting to the gym 5 days/week. right now i'm at 4.
tues: pilates
wed: spin
thu: personal training
fri: yoga

i need to add a monday class. i'm looking at 20/20/20. cardio, strength, yoga/stretch. i would also like to add a 30 min tabata cardio class on friday before yoga and a 30 minute power house class on wed, after spin. zumba is offered on tues, after pilates, which may or may not be a bit much for me right now. i do love it, though. the treadmill is also my cardio fallback.

i'm happy with my plan and feel like something is missing from my day if i miss my workout.



Personal Information:
i am currently 61 years old. i live in massachusetts with my husband of 39 years. my oldest son now lives in seattle with his fiancée, the middle one in mansfield, ma with his wife, and the youngest is in waltham, ma. they are my life!


Other Information:
i love to read, knit, sew, watch movies, listen to music and especially spend time with my family.

    Welcome to the mini challenge. I've been having empty nest syndrome also. I'm a teacher, so at home alone all summer. My oldest,21 is with the marines in Okinawa and the youngest is at college (taking classes and working 1st summer session) I got a Yorkshire Terrier when the boys left home. I really think she saved my sanity. She doesn't mind me fussing over her (which I think was driving my kids crazy)and she just want me to love her. Unconditional love and loyalty is something special. My husband's been great but I got tired of being by myself all day. Don't worry that you got off the wagon for a bit, just hop right back on. We'll all be with you. Pam

    Great pictures - you should be very proud. I lived in the "Great Northwest" for 12 years - I was in Portland Oregon. Seattle is a wonderful place and you will have a great reason to visit.

    This is a time of big changes for you - I encourage you to think what makes you happy - what do you want to do for you? Take a class? Volunteer at a museum or a hospital? Use your journal to help you explore. I'm just learning that I don't have to come right home from work anymore and it is liberating. But after years of taking care of 4 boys (hubby, too) it takes time to find your own rhythm. You must have done your job well - they are leaving home!
