I have gained and lost the same 30 or 40 pounds many times. I believe that if you add it all up, I have lost my entire body weight or more. Yikes!

I am here for the long haul. The so called "goal weight" is not so much a goal as it is a benefit that I get from living as healthfully as I can. I am not here to lose weight. I am here to get healthy and learn how to stay healthy. I do not expect to be perfect. I do commit to doing the best that I am capable of on any given day. Sometimes, my best will be exercising for an hour or more and eating within my calorie range. Sometimes, my best will not be so healthy. No regrets. Just determination to be as healthy as possible.

My Goals:
Short term: My goal is to be as healthy as I can today, right now. If I do that, the weight will come off and my physical fitness and endurance will be as good or better than it is now.

Long term: Stay healthy and active so I can enjoy the things I like to do without limitation.

My Program:
August 2014:
I started "The Plan", an elimination diet, by author Lyn-Genet Recitas, to help one sort out which foods are better tolerated by my system and which are reactive and cause inflammation (gas, bloating, etc.)

In the first week I lost 3 pounds.

It's too soon to tell if The Plan will change the way I eat for life, but I feel pretty good and it is helping me lose the last stubborn 15 pounds.

Full time RV'er for 1.5 years (June 2012 to Dec 2013.)

    The holidays can be a stressful time....so much to do...and so little time. De-stress at every opportunity. What does stress do to your health habits? It usually foils them. It takes over your good judgment leaving you at the mercy of comfort foods. Not this year!! Learn to recognize your stress level. Maybe it's your tone of voice. Maybe it's trying to read the same paragraph five times. Maybe it's hearing everyone speak at once but not really listening to anyone. That's when you need to relax. Take a five-minute time-out for yourself. Get away from the crowd. Breathe deeply and relax your muscles. Close your eyes and remember what you're thankful for: When you return to your family, they'll wonder why you look so refreshed!
