August, 2017 - I have fallen way off the maintenance wagon and have let stress eating take over my life. I'm stopping it here, today. I just can't let this get so far out of control again. Not sure how I'm going to go back to tracking calories when Points have been such a part of my life. I just don't have the finances at the moment to go back to WW................. we go.

January 2017 - well, here I am adding again. Yes, I;m maintaining around my goal weight, but not really where I *want* to be. AND I'm not doing so in a very healthy way. 2017 is going to be the year that I combine the maintenance WITH the healthy. Here's to us ALL!!!!

January, 2016 - This is likely the last time I'll "add" to this "introduction text" as I'm hoping to have the maintenance thing pretty much "down" this year. Hit a few bumps in the road over the holidays but am starting to get my momentum back. I gained a bit but not nearly as much as I thought I did , nor not nearly as much as I would have in years past. I count that as a win! I'm ready to keep this weight off and make this lifestyle change permanent!
UPDATE 9/17/2015: Well, I'm managing despite job stress, personal happy stress, and concern over family things, to maintain my healthier habits and, therefore, my weight. I'm actually several pounds below my original goal weight and am quite comfortable where I'm at so far. I still am very fearful of backsliding which I HAVE done in the past......... and while I know this time around *feels* different.........that old fear just haunts the back of my mind. I am Captain of a challenge team here on Spark and am enjoying helping people learn to be more positive about themselves.

UPDATE 5/30/2015: I did it! I landed at my goal weight (actually just a bit below) on 4/7/14!! I have managed, despite a lot of emotional upheaval, to stay within about 1.5 lbs of that weight I hit since then.........staying still below my "goal weight" by 2 lbs. Maintenance has been a rocky road, and given all that has happened just since Jan. 1, I'm rather proud that I've been able to maintain where I am despite some glitches in my "food plan".

My dear Mom died on April 26th and that has been the biggest challenge for me personally in both learning about myself AND in my eating habits. I'm a stress/emotional eater from WAY back and this truly has tested my limits. I'm doing better than I expected in a lot of ways, and not as good as I'd like to in so many - both in my response to my stress AND in my emotional self. I'll get there.............I keep learning and growing, and I hope as I do that, I'll be able to pass along some of my own lessons to others.

It truly IS a journey..........and adventure!!!!
I am able to finally start a new year with a very positive statement: I hit the goal I set for myself and am under 170 lbs as of 12/31/2014! I finally feel like I have the mindset I have needed to find to make weight loss successful and have around 15 lbs as I write this to reach the weight goal I've set for myself. I know the last few pounds will be the toughest to lose, and I know I still have bumps to get over to get there. I plan, however, on being at my goal and trying to maintain by the end of 2015.

1. Learn to rely less on "numbers" and more on "look and feel"

2. When looking at numbers, be realistic in what I can attain and maintain and still feel healthy.

3. Maintain some kind of exercise program.

4. Stay active and healthy so I can play with The Princess and The Little Dude....and camp......and bike......

My Program:
Weight Watchers, portion-control, and increasing exercise are things that work well for me as long as I do them! I need to incorporate more ST in this new year...........

My name is Linda, and I live in Central Ohio. I'm 62, I'm a nurse, and have finally learned to appreciate my own health. I am learning to say no, and I'm learning to put myself first in the "healthy" department. I was at "maintenance" although that word is very misleading - but succumbed to stress eating! I stopped myself shorter of the gain monster this time and have about 17 pounds to shed again.

Other Information:
I love to travel, love to camp, and love to bike (as in the pedal kind!). I also love to read but don't do nearly as much of it as I should! I LOVE being a Mamaw to Charlotte, Connor, and Mia.......

    Congratulations on the new granddaughter. Yes, life gets crazy busy but it can be a good thing. Glad to hear you're still apart of BLC. I'm in on the next round but not on a team r0 with anyone I know. Striving to keep an open mind about it. Change still isn't my favorite but i love many aspects of the challenge so I'll do my best. Been dabbling with a similar challenge but they don't encourage, motivate or anything along those lines. Oh well, its all a learning experience. Good luck this round!!!

    Hey YOU, Girl! I am still trying to get this routine down and my computer died, no smart phone, and depending on my Hug's computer access til I make up my mind if I am going Adnroid or iOs. Hoping to get more active ONline once those things are set up. My son gave me a fitbit for xmas; no idea how that works since I stopped using the iphone in 2003. Went back to a simple phone.
