You are right about it not being as common in girls as in boys. I read somewhere that the number of ADS could be as high as 1 in 300, but because it is being mis diagnosed as ADD and ADHD or just not being diagnosed at all, it is possible it is much higher. Knowing what you have doesn't cure you, but it sure does help.

Hello! Yes, Aspergers can be a real blessing!! I love the differences as well. There are so many things that we see as Aspies that others can't even grasp. I always say my boys see things deeper, like in 3D! I am so glad the desert and her new small school is so good to her! Have a really happy healthy day! Cathy

Hi! I noticed your comment to another Spark person on their SparkPage and just wanted to let you know about a team you might be interested in...I lead a group called Autism, Aspergers, Sensory, Oh My! You are more than welcom to join and we'd love to have you. I have 2 sons with Aspergers and possibly my 3 year old daughter who is labeled Sensory Processing, but I am not so sure. Anyway I hope you don't mind my "intrusion." My 2 year old daughter and I have Acid Reflux..not fun! Anyway, I love your picture and your smile! My very best wishes to you and your family!
God bless you for being a military wife! Best, Cathy

It is great to meet you. How old is your daughter? My son is going to be 16 in April and is doing very well in school. He was diagnosed at 8 years of age and because of his diagnosis I have done some checking on myself. I have never been officially diagnosed but I am 98% sure I have it. I also saw it in my dad and my husbands oldest brother. What is your daughter's special interest. Mine is horses and my son's is hockey. What are your coping methods? I hope to hear from you again.
