Dec '13: I am back! What a trying year this has been...so many family issues. BUT, after developing some serious stress I finally sought help earlier this year and have it under control. I have lost half of the 90 pounds I'm hoping to shed. My new goal is to run a 5K with my sons this spring. We used to run them together until I injured my foot in the last race I ran. That really got me off track. But, I've come a long way, and my eye is still on the goal!



Feb '11: Lots of ups and downs over last year. After much progress I did too much backpedaling, mostly giving in to stress eating. However, I have taken control once again and have already lost 11 pounds this year. I plan to run a 5k in a couple months. I'm prepping indoors while it's still winter outside, but soon I will be hitting the pavement.

Feb '10: Had some backtracking over the holidays, but I am moving forward again. I am 20 pounds lighter than a year ago, 40 pounds lighter than 2 years ago, and 50 pounds lighter than 3 years ago. Progress is slow, but it's still progress!!

Nov 09: Not reaching my goal yet, but overall I think it's been a very good year. I've lost nearly 30 pounds and kept it off, which is a great accomplishment for me.
I've gotten much stronger from strength training, and that has helped take inches off. I recently discovered that I can still do a cartwheel! (A feat I haven't attempted since high school...but my 7-year-old inspired me to try.)
I'm trying to lose a little more by the end of the year, and if I can make it through the holiday season without gaining, I will consider that a great victory. I'm already planning for our healthy Thanksgiving "feast." (More veggies, less bread, lighter dessert.)

04/09 Down 20 pounds and not so disgusted by the mirror anymore. I even had to pull out some smaller clothes (from days gone by) because most of what I own is just too baggy! Looks like I may have to do some thrifty shopping this weekend...cool!

3/09 I'm down 15 pounds and still going! Spring is almost here and I'm looking forward the gettng outside again.

1/09 I have been up and down in my weight for years. It seems like everytime I made real progress I got pregnant and took two steps backward. I lost 25 pounds in 2008, though I had a little setback over the holidays, and would like to polish off the rest this year. I'm off to a good start and am currently in two weight loss contests to keep up the motivation. Once the contests are over, I'll be relying more on SparkPeople to keep me going.

Other Information:
Music is a great motivator for me. I love to pop in the earbuds and drown out distractions. I listen to music that motivates me to move. My absolute favorite band is the Newsboys.

I love to read, fiction and non-fiction. I especially love reading health-related books, spiritual, and mysteries.

I'm also a fan of scrapbooking...don't have much time for it anymore, unfortunately, but I do find it very relaxing.
