Here it is...
I started losing weight as part of a competition and will continue losing weight as part of a true lifestyle change. I was actually introduced to Sparkpeople in July of 2006 but did absolutely nothing with it at the time.

However, at 195lbs, in January 2008 I decided to jump in and give it a try. I had great progress at the start, losing 37 pounds in the first 5 months of the year. Summer was slow at only 3 pounds in 3 months! But, with a new season comes new clothes and a renewed spirit of getting healthy. So, now, chapter two of weight loss! Here I go... well not very fast. I lost another 10 pounds only to regain it at Thanksgiving. However, now I have the support of my colleagues as we have started another biggest loser contest that started December 1st. That should help met to get through the Holiday season a little but better.

Additionally, I have started a private team and asked my cousin and sister- in-law to join me in this weight loss endeavor. My cousin has already lost 19 lbs and it will be fun to share our future success together.

It is now February and I am at 144 lbs. It is not where I wanted to be at this point but I feel amazing about my progress nonetheless. I will still meet my goal weight. As they say, slow and steady wins this race.

Early April and I am at 138 lbs. I feel great about my progress. I am so trained on losing weight that I worry as I get closer to my goal that I will be able to successfully maintain. That will be another challenge but I have to get there first. One day at a time...

It is late April (4/27) and I am within my maintenance weight range. I want to get to 125 and then I would be a comfortable with a weight range of 125-135.

May 1st - I am in the home stretch! I have just 7 pounds to go to meet my goal and then a lifetime of maintenance. May 4th - I had my final weigh in for the school's biggest loser contest. I was .05 away from winning a 15% pot so we kept moving the scale around the room until it read 131.6 so I would make the 15% cut!

I enjoyed celebrating my Biggest Loser win. I celebrated so much that I gained almost 7 pounds back in 2 weeks time. So, now I start anew. I am still not that far from my goal weight and hope to get there by June 16th. I am finding it much easier to lose weight than it is to maintain weight. When I am losing weight, I know exactly what is expected of me but when it came to maintaining I need to learn new nutrition tracking levels in combination with appropriate fitness amounts.

Just to update progress, I gained ten pounds since my Biggest Loser win. I am far better at losing weight than I am at maintaining weight loss! So, I have started to follow my succesful lifestyle change plan, again... closely and I am hoping for the best before fall clothing shopping has to begin.

Back up to 160 on December of 2010. Ready to make a change again and I have the strength to make it permanent this time!

175 on the last day of January 2011. I have to get my act together starting today!

New Goal for 2011 - Lose 10 Pounds before family picture on February 26th!
~Lose 10% of my body weight by the end of May '08 - Done in April '08!
~Lose 70 pounds total - I am at 63 pounds lost (5/1/09)
~Win the first monthly biggest loser competition (weigh-in 10/9/08) for the JJWC group - I won the first month with a 7 lb loss - I won the whole thing on 3/11/2009!
~Lose at least 15% of my weight for the JTHS biggest loser competition '08-'09 (Accomplished by .05!)
~Be at goal weight by June 16, 2009 - Didn't Make it!
~New Goal Date 9/26/09 - Not Even Close! I am much better at losing weight than I am at maintaining it.
~ New Goal Date - May
~Do Triathlon
~Run 1/2 Marathon
~Strength Train at lease twice a week (T/TH)

My Program:
I have started an exercise program daily beginning at 4:00 am. I love the me time but not the hour at which it occurs. I have also really started being aware of my food eating decisions. I usually run, walk hills, bike ride or do aerobics in the morning. I also like to swim in the afternoon if I can fit it in with my kids' schedules.

    just wanted to tell you that i read your page, and i never have read anyone's page before, and just so happen to click on yours. anyways, when i read that you started with spark many a year ago, i thought well that is me too and i thought well maybe it was meant to be that i read your page and was inspired that you did the same thing and have had great results. so i'm going to try to start again. good luck robin, and congratulations for you great progress
