Memorial Day Weekend 2007 I had a stroke at age 44.

August 1, 2007, I joined SparkPeople. I didn't like the cholesterol medicine or blood pressure medicine they put me on, so I began to make lifestyle changes.

May 1, 2008 - I've lost 25 pounds and decided to challenge folks from my church to do Sycamore Tree Church Biggest Loser to lose the last 18 pounds in 18 weeks.

May 9, 2008 - Dr. took me OFF Blood Pressure Meds and cut cholesterol medicine to 5 mg/day!!!

August 31, 2008 - Someone else won, but I inspired 12 other people to join "the Biggest Loser" and three of those people lost almost 10% of their total weight in the last 18 weeks AND my weight is heading down! Slower than I'd like, but my activity is up, I'm eating more fruits, veggies and complex carbs and the weight is coming down. That's really all that counts!

I will control what I CAN control (eating and exercise) and will NOT WORRY about what I can't control (my weight)

April 24, 2009 - STILL 30# lighter than when I joined SparkPeople in August 2007!

Fall 2009 - I started posting my Healthy Living Bible Study online to share with others - www.squidoo.com/biblehealth

October 1, 2010 - I think I'm finally ready to lose this last 25# I feel motivated. So, I challenged some others to join me. (I like company on this journey). I'll let you know how I do!

March 18, 2011 - I am down another 10# - 15 - 20 more and I'll be at my goal!

    How can you NOT get discouraged, or is there something I am missing. I put in what I was going to eat for dinner to see where my point landed, and I am over! That's just supper, not including the two other snacks I have in a day. All I eat is cereal, granola, fruit, and eggs!!! I don't think this thing is correct. I have been eating WAY more than this before and didn't gain weight. I just got done eating an hour ago and I am ready for more food, uggghhh.

    Maybe you can help....

    Hey Mom!

    Thought I would going the gang. I may not have the same short term goals, but I can get encouragement for my long term ones. It is soooo easy to have a bad food day and slip into a bad food life. When I am 60 I want to have GREAT health and make all the youngns TRY to keep up with me.

    I am very impressed at the weight you lost, proud (not the condescending proud though)!

    Well, how did Tues. night go. Is it just me, or doesn' it feel good to feel good.
    You see, when I overeat I get sick, so this is so nice to not feel ill all the time. I hope you get the same feel good feeling!!!
