I am 47 years old and ready to stop making excuses for being 30 lbs. overweight. I have exercised for years but I need to watch what I eat much more carefully. I am short (5' 1") so 155 lbs is a lot more than I need on my smallish frame. I have been going to the gym for about a year now and I love yoga, step and kickboxing classes as well as using the elliptical trainer and the treadmill. I started over in June of 2010 and I love SparkPeople.com. I am moving to Sharpsburg, Ga on June 29 and I will no longer have a gym membership. I do have a lot of workout DVDs and hand weights and body resistance bands. I just need to find a good used treadmill and I think that will be all I will need. And I need to find a good place to walk outside. I am excited but anxious too!

My Goals:
I want to look and feel better. My knees feel every pound I have gained. I want to lose 30 lbs. and gain muscle and stamina.


My Program:
I am going to the gym 4-6 times a week. I love step aerobics, cardio box and yoga classes. I am tracking my food so I will think about what I put in my mouth and I am watching my portion sizes. If I cannot go the gym I plan to walk or exercise at least 10 minutes a day.



Personal Information:
I am 46 years old, married and have a 14 year old son. I live in Sneads Ferry, NC which is near the coast.


Other Information:
I love to read and workout. My favorite tv shows of the moment are Madmen, Parenthood, and Dexter. I am a Christian and my flavor of Christianity is Anglican. My politics are liberal and my interpretation of the gospel is to try to live in response to God's love for me and to try to live out my baptismal covenant by respecting the dignity of every human being.

    Thanks, I am planning to do just that. I can't wait to see some progress. My short term goal is to reach out to others for support. I think my lack of progress is related to the fact that I think I have to do everything on my own. Thanks for your support. emoticon
