Hi! I'm Renee AND I am a Former Fat Person, wife of one super, super great husband, and a former pet mama, lost both of my babies in 2017 😭

Most of my story is in my early blogs which is my 1/16/2012 blog. In brief I have made it to less than 200 pounds THREE times now since I have started on my weight loss journey at the end of 2008, and I feel i have STOPPED sabotaging myself and I am slowly getting closer to goal, even though I haven't even reached my goal yet....no one said this would be easy.
(Added 9/23/12) I have figured out what has happened to me these last two times and why I failed, the shrink didn't tell me, I just FINALLY figured it out! The first time I failed cause I wasn't ready to be someone I haven't been in such a long time. Junior year is when the weight starting creeping up now that I was 29 watching things shrinIk and "wrinkle" where fat had been so long, I was not prepared, I wanted it but I didn't get it. The second time, yes my emotional eating issues when my stepfather passed overwhelmed me A LOT! In fact I went through a lot of things that I will not ever share but I keep myself busy with things and refrain from throwing myself pity parties and I will get through it. So the THIRD time has to be the last right!?!?!?!

My program at the moment consists of me aiming for at least 7 hours of sleep- I usually get 6 though. Getting to the gym at least 4 days a week for a minimum of 30 minutes and try to get 10,000 steps a day. In May 2018 my marathon training will pick up for my September race. And serious portion control!

    So I finally took a second and re-read your intro. Losing weight the first time for me got scary at about -140. What you wrote about chubby places turning kinda wrinkly is exactly what scared me the most. I was afraid because now I was still big, but not "attractive" in the way that we all expect from movies and magazines, and most of all with my breasts.

    Thanks for taking the courage to include that in your intro. It's nice to know that I'm not the only one working on that issue. I keep telling myself that I can move past it (and I can), but it's nice to have that affirmation.

    emoticon The Motivator of the Day. What an honor.

    I saw a PBS NOVA program on Tufts University in Boston studying people training for a full marathon. After five months they ran a half marathon and then went on to train so four months later they ran a full one. The doctors said they gained only 10% more by training for the full marathon, but had more injures and thus they concluded that they got the most health benefits from running the half marathon races, and gained nothing by running the full one because of injury off-set. It was an interesting program.
