    How are you doing?

I'm just like you, I never wanted to be a runner either. And then, last summer I was looking for something to do to help get me into shape, and I discovered the c25k program. Basically you go from doing nothing at all, to running a 5k in about 9 weeks. It's a super easy start. You run for 60 seconds, walk for 90. Anyway, now that I'm doing it, I LOVE it. I have my first official 5k on March 20th. And, my plan is to do Goofy's race and a half next January in Disney World. It's a half marathon on Saturday and a full the next day. Pretty crazy! Let me know if you want more information about c25k or the links.

Hi there! Just saw your comment on my page, and wanted to say Hi! I do hear about "The Sound Of Music" a lot. LOL. But, that's ok, I LOVE that movie, ane my dad picked my name when he was like 12, so it's super special to me :)
Can't wait to get to know you better! It'll be so great to have the support. Congratulations on your weight loss so far this week!

And commit to using Spark. I have learned so much from all the articles and blogs. And tracking my nutrition is the biggest part of my weight loss.

The trigger for becoming careless in my eating was the upping of my calorie range. I had gotten so used to eating within the lower range (for about a year). So when Spark said that since I was maintaining instead of losing, I should be eating more, I took it as an excuse to add in more cake and cupcakes and eating dessert every night instead of just as a treat. Because I was still within the range of calories so I went, it's okay, lalalalalalalala. But they were empty calories that weren't helping my body.

I wasn't gaining weight but I was feeling a little doughy. And then when I took the measurements and things had gone UP instead of DOWN, I just reassessed what I was doing and cracked down on the unhealthy extras.

So I've reduced my calorie range to something I feel is a better range for me. Instead of just accepting Spark's recommendation as the be all and end all, I've tweaked it until I feel I have a range that will work for me. It's still higher than a losing range but it's not as high as what Spark was saying. (One thing to remember if you tweak your ranges is to make sure you change the carb, fat, and protein ranges as well as the calories).

I've also recommitted to my Wii. I was slacking off and sleeping in instead of exercising and I'm making sure that I change that around so I'm getting at least 30 minutes on the Wii every morning. And I'm really trying to build a Spark Streak of strength exercising. I think I need to play around with that some more though because I give myself a day off on Saturday and then I don't want to start again on Sundays. So I need to do that everyday.

I find it is easiest to stay within my calorie range when I eat the same (or similar) foods everyday. If it is just automatic that I have mini wheats, a banana, soy milk, and a banana every day for breakfast, weekend and weekdays, then I don't have to worry about eating something that is too much. And I need to get back into that for my lunchs, they've been all over the place lately.

We plan the weeks suppers in advance before we go grocery shopping. Most of the recipes we use are from Spark and the ones that aren't I've entered into Spark so I always have the calorie total to put into my nutritional plan. And I know that some suppers that we make are higher than others and if I can put that in before I figure out my lunch, then I know how much I can eat.

I'm lucky because for me, if I don't have the calorie room for a piece of chocolate cake, then I don't have it and I don't feel deprived. Which is good because we constantly have chocolate cake because my boyfriend is a chocoholic. But I know that if salty chips are in the house, I'll eat them for supper. I crave salt much more than sugar. It's about knowing what you really crave that is unhealthy and then NOT having it around.

Drink your water. I used to HATE drinking plain water and now it's pretty much all I have. I had a sip of my boyfriend's coke when we went out to supper the other day and EW. I was completely put off by it and before we used to buy 2L bottles that just I would drink. And drinking water really does quench "hunger" pangs when you are not really hungry, your mouth just wanted something to do.

You can do it! I have complete faith in you that you will be able to meet your goals. Start small and build up. And don't be discouraged if you make a mistake, you have only failed if you don't get up again. I hope this helps.
