I'm not sure how many times I've been on SparkPeople attempting to lose weight. But I am determined that this will be the last time--and for the first time, I believe that I really have hope of healing my deranged metabolism and getting back to a healthy weight and being able to maintain it long-term.

My Goals:
To get back to a healthy weight and to feel comfortable in my skin again. To feel like "myself" again. To feel healthy and fit again.


My Program:
I had a lot of success a few years back with Eat to Live but found it too hard to maintain and still try to live a "normal" life. Stumbled on the Every Other Day Diet in The Atlantic this summer and immediately felt like it was something I could manage even though this has been a crazy and difficult year. The more I learn about intermittent fasting the more excited I am about its potential to turn around the metabolic and obesity crisis that affects so many of us. It's been empowering to understand more about how we got here; if you don't understand the roots of the problem, you can't fix it. Understanding that the obesity epidemic has its roots not in gluttony and sloth as the proponents of "Eat less, move more" would have us believe, but rather in how and when we eat. That calorie counting gets you focused on the wrong thing. Highly recommend Dr. Jason Fung's book "The Obesity Code: Unlocking the Secrets of Weight Loss" as this understanding has changed my life forever.

    Thanks for checking out by blog. -- I actually have a book on Tapping, but haven't taken or haven't found the time to follow through on this. Yes, it has been a "thought" to do at some point. (Honestly, not sure if I'm currently able to verbalize the things to say out loud. "Issues!")
