Hi! I'm Renee and i'm a 20 year old developmental psychology student at the University of Maine in Orono. This journey, for me, is more about creating a new perspective on life itself, about realizing that i have this one life and while it may be difficult at times, it's mine to live, and i want to live it being well. It's less about the actual numbers and more about the overall feeling of health, mind, body, and soul.

Positivity is the goal here. This society relishes in people's misfortunes and tragedies. In the news, on the radio, we hear about all the things that went wrong and rarely do reports ever get made about what went right.

I plan to focus on what's good in my life. We all make mistakes and we have have pasts that we could dwell in, but ruminating in our negative history doesn't give us a chance to make positive changes to our present, that can have an outstanding influence on our futures.

We will all be happier and healthier if we look at physical fitness and healthy eating as something we're doing to better ourselves as a whole, rather than thinking of it as a duty, or to conform to what society thinks we should be.

I've struggled myself with weight and eating issues for almost 1/2 my life...and i'm only 20. Over the years i've degraded, battered and really abused my body, the only one i've been given...all to be the unrealistic sized, picture perfect person that doesn't and wont ever exist.

We're all worth good food. We're all worth a good life. I'm worth it and it's time i finally appreciated and loved myself enough to commit to a healthy lifestyle...for me.

Hi! Just found your page and like what you wrote about focusing on the positive things and how being healthy should be the utmost goal. Thanks!

It will be kind of exciting for a little while tomorrow because Friday at 5pm they start to install our new phones with the new phone system. I had a training session on Friday about how to use the new phone, seems like it has a lot of neat features and will be easy to use. After that though I don't think work will be fun.

I am planning on finding microwaveable foods to eat because I'm pretty sure our school has a microwave in the union. I don't want to deal with keeping food cold though so it'll be stuff like easy mac and soup at hand and stuff like that. Not exactly the greatest but better than not eating at all or eating fast food. I don't even want to go out to lunch because I want to use the break I have from 11 to 1 every day to work on homework since I'll be working until 6 and know I won't feel like doing homework when I get home.

I wish it was more than one weekend but it's only this coming weekend for right now. I am planning on going down to see him one weekend, I just don't know what weekend that will be yet.

Everyone needs a couple of nights to cut loose so we stay sane. I'm sure even though they're not considered "good" nights they're still better than they could have been in the past. I'm glad you have a day off to relax! You're awesome for going to the gym!!

I worked on my bathroom but it's not as organized as I would like because I got a bit frustrated with my mom. There are curling irons and stuff that aren't mine that she just told me to put back under the sink. I don't really have a lot of stuff to fill the storage space under the sink but I still don't want her stuff in there. I am taking a small break and then I will go back to clean the floor, sink and mirror...maybe the shower and the toilet even though I did those last weekend. I guess it never hurts to get into a good habit of cleaning every weekend. Possibly I'll move onto laundry and cleaning my room and desk but we'll see. I'll feel happy with having my bathroom done at least.

So far not so good with doing anything productive. My boyfriend was bored before lunch so we started playing games on Skype and now we're watching the Vikings Cowboys game while on the web cam with each other. I do need to do something productive or I'm going to be super frustrated with myself when I'm going to bed, especially since I'll be reminded of what I didn't do while I'm in my messy unorganized bathroom getting ready for bed.

Things are going well in life...Tomorrow starts my last full week of work before school. I'm a little bit excited to start school but at the same time nervous since this is my first semester with all of my classes being at a University of Wisconsin school. The schedule is a little bit more stressful and I'll be working until 6 Monday-Thursday. My boyfriend is coming home Friday night so I'll get to see him Saturday and Sunday, yay!

How are things going for you??
