I decided to take a break from the 5% Challenges so sitting out the Spring Challenge.

I've joined and rejoined 2 walking teams. I like to keep 5 teams to earn the extra Bonus Points.

My focus will now be on me watching what I am eating and getting my walks with Bubba.

I'm enjoying the longer days with DST, although the darker mornings are a drag, lol.

But it's nice to be able to walk at 6p.m. and not have to carry a flashlight!

Jan 10th - Joined the 2020 5% Winter Challenge.
Still an UnderDawg!


I do solemnly pledge:
that I will do my best to eat healthy and within my calorie range,
that I will exercise to the best of my ability,
that I will watch my portions and avoid mindless eating,

Mar 28th - Joined the 5% Spring Challenge and made goal in the Winter Challenge.

Mar 2. 2019: I made goal and then some! Reached new goal and still losing. At 114 lbs, I have passed my previous low of 115 and heading for 110 if my body can stand it. I have joined the Spring 5% Challenge - it really helps to be part of a group of losers!

Dec 26: The invites are in the Inbox and I have officially joined the Winter Challenge! However, I continued to lose weight even after the Fall Challenge ended, and reached 127, down from 134.7, and expect to be "at goal weight" when the Winter Challenge starts.
My program is to incorporate solid foods again (instead of Slim Fast Shakes) and to up my aerobics to try to get rid of some of the "sag in my drag" but at 67, I'll take skinny with sag over fat any day! I feels good!

Dec 1, 2018: I dropped 10% of my weight in the Fall Challenge, down to 134.7 - WooHoo!! I've joined the 5% Winter Challenge but it won't start until Next Year. I'm not waiting - I will continue on my "Bubba Slim-Fast Plan" until I reach my ultimate goal of 125. Heheheh maybe 120, lol.

October 2 , 2018 - I reached my 5% in the Spring Challenge and am hoping to do well in the Fall 5% Challenge. Now I'm just waiting for it to start! Rumor has it starting around October 6th. My goal for the Winter Challenge is to reach 143 lbs and my overall goal is for 132 to be a normal weight again. I can do this!

August 25, 2018 - I reached 153.8 so time to change the picture again - my next goal will be around 145-ish so that is the picture to be showing. I reached my 5% Goal, for the first time since joining the 5% Challenges and it feels awesome!

July 23, 2018 - I have re-lost 9 lbs out of the 45 regained. It feels good to be moving in a positive direction again. I still miss my Ray, but now I understand why he was always going outside to mow. It feels good to be doing something constructive every day. Since I've now gotten below 162 again, I am posting the next goal picture of 154.6 lbs.

June 2018 - Ray is gone now and I am again entering the 5% Challenges. Back to my team, the Spirited Underdawgs!
I don't care if I re-lose the 40 lbs as long as I remain healthy. But I would like to return to a normal weight.
ONE day at a time.

I am a 24/7 Caregiver for my DH, Ray, who is now 96-1/2!

2 years ago he was sent home to die Christmas 2015, so we're at least still here and together. It's not easy - but I have no problem with making him my top priority.

When he is gone, he will be gone forever :(

Jan 9, 2014 - After no home internet for 2 years, and a regain of 20 lbs, I am finally connected to the world again.
I am back to sparkin' this weight off one more time - thankfully not all of it, lol. I would just like to be back in the 20's again.

Apr 2011 - Winter 2010-2011 has seen me gain back a few pounds - not unexpectedly, but a couple more than I desired. I have gone as high as 122.2 (March 21st) and while not thrilled, I can accept and live with it. I had hoped to keep it below 120 but that was not to be with the rough winter we had this year. I don't think of myself as a failure - I am going to be on this journey for the rest of my life and I must learn to adjust. I can and I will.

10/2/2010 - Finally! 115.0 WooHoo!! 95 lbs gone forever!

8/13 - 115.7! Unbelievable! Truly Sparktacular!

8/12 - 116.1 - WooHoo! I can almost taste 115! Still not quite maintaining 116 but getting closer all the time! This time I only went back up to 117.

8/6 - 116.6 - 'visited' 119 twice but this time I am going to maintain! I must keep my protein up!

7/9 - 116.8 - maybe this time!

6/3 - 116.9 - first time at 116!! Stayed in 116 for 3 days - then up again.

May 25, 2010 - I hit 117.6 for the first time ever!! WooHoo!!

May 4, 2010 - I am now able to hold 119-ish with relative ease. Still trying to reach the ideal weight of 117. Since I cannot count on anyone at the Blood Bank to take my platelets (stick me), I gave up trying. I can donate whole blood as low as 110 pounds so 117 will be safe if I am able to maintain it. It is up to my body now to decide, not me. Very slowly from this point on because it will be a shock to the body.

Mar 18, 2010 - I was able to do one 6.5 mile walk yesterday! WooHoo!! Back to 121.5!! Bring on Spring & Summer walking! I am so ready!!

Feb 7, 2010 - I have fluctuated up to 123.5 and then back down again - this has been a rough 2 months with all this cold, rainy weather here in Mississippi. I am so looking forward to Springtime and back to my daily walking!

August 10, 2009 - I decided that 120 is my Ideal Weight. My maintenance range will be 117-122 even though I never saw 117. This decision came from my reaction to my Platelet Donation.

August 23, 2009 - 118.8! 92 down, 1 lb to goal!!

August 13, 2009 - 119.4! 91 down, 2 to goal!

July 22, 2009 - 120.9! Today I have lost 90 lbs with SparkPeople!!

May 1, 2009 - 125.8! It's offical! 85 lbs lost with SparkPeople!! Whoopee!!

Dec 6, 2008 - Getting close to goal weight now so feel I should slow down a little. Cold outside so not walking as much. Pulled my Cardio down to 60 minutes *more-or-less* to make time for strength training. Still losing!

Nov 24, 2008 - I reached 148.8! One day late of my goal (148) but it tastes just as sweet! Now on to 135!!

Nov 17, 2008 - I am 150.9, that is officially down 60 lbs today even though I am only in by 1/10th of a pound! Whoopee!! This tastes better than any desert! I still want to reach 148 by Nov 23 but it will be ok if I don't.

Oct 31, 2008 - I am chosen as a Motivator! Wow!! What an honor this is. All I have done is try to be supportive and keep people going on their chosen programs. I will continue to do this and hopefully earn this great title.

Oct 30, 2008 - I have to eat more or exercise less! Less exercise is not an option so I am taking the leap of faith and increasing my daily calories by 300. Wow, who ever thought eating more could be a problem?!

I have accepted myself as I am but now would like to prevent heart disease and stroke so trying to take off excess poundage.

Using Nutrition Tracker! It really makes all the difference in this working!

I have to learn to measure and weigh all my foods. "Eye-balling" is not good enough. Wishful thinking will not make this happen.

Personal Information:
I am 66, and recently widowed. Regained 49+ pounds with caregiving and Ray was worth every single pound regained!
Now 67 and have lost all of the 49 lbs plus 8 more!!

Married to my Ray, he's my best friend for 32+ years!
born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, lived in NYC for 25 years ~~ lived in Pennsylvania 10 years and now permanently reside in Mississippi for 28+ years.

Other Information:
I am going to lose this weight and I will never be obese again. Determination, perseverance - you are my new best friends! ONE day at a time!

P.S. for anyone not knowing me, I started at 210 lbs. This isn't vanity weight, it is to be able to live weight.
