Welcome to SP, this is the best site for weight loss I have found. Fantastic tracking for food intake and exercise, wonderful articles and advice and so much support and encouragement from all the other members. My best advice would be to take advantage of everything. I have not been consistent as I have just re-joined SP for the 3rd time as I allowed life to get in the way. ! Something I would not recommend. The best gift we can give our family and friends is to get healthy and fit therefore factor SP into your life, give yourself time each day to log in, get the encouragement on offer and achieve your dreams.
    Best wishes Kathy

Welcome to SP! and I can assure you that so many of us had lots of diet experience before we came here and got focused. Look, I think for me the first and most important thing was to face up to a simple fact that diets don't work but changing my lifestyle does! I also needed to learn to see myself in the reality mirror....over the years I was guilty of thinking I needed to lose wt when maybe I just needed to get fitter and then there were times when I didn't see myself as I was and really did need to lose weight. Once I started to see the real me, I also began to see what really mattered and that was not so much the number on the scale but how I felt and what I could do...I love feeling strong and being able to run gives me a pride I don't think would have come no matter what size I was. Well, that's me and hopefully you won't have as much trouble with things like that. set some goals that are not related to the scale...that way, when the scale is fickle, you will be able to measure other successes. You CAN do this!
