*My Initial Entry*
I'm Rachel. I hate dieting. I hate exercising. But I'm going to do it anyway, because I'm tired of having to hunt so much to find cute clothes. I'm tired of seeing something that looks adorable on the rack and then trying it on and having it not quite fit.

**Updates**

~~ At the end of a week and a half of Sparking, I've lost SIX POUNDS! I haven't felt like I've been on a diet, just eating smarter and lowering my fast food intake. Otherwise, I've been full most of the time, which is great. Also, I've had a revelation: Make the exercise fit my life, rather than make my life fit some regimen. When I get bored, or feel like it's hard to breathe or whatever, I STOP, instead of forcing myself to keep going (which is what I always used to do). I'm aiming at training my body and my brain to stick it out longer and longer. This is great!

~~ At the end of a month of Sparking, I've lost 12.6 pounds. More than 5% of my body weight, and almost a quarter of what I need to lose. I feel like I have my food mostly under control, and so I'm going to start working on my cardio more. I really want to increase my stamina for that.

~~ At almost three months of Sparking, I've lost 25 pounds!! I'm very excited, and people are starting to comment. I have less than 10 pounds to go before I hit ONEDERLAND!! I went several weeks on plateau, just because of body adjustments and probably hormonal changes, too, but now that the bloating is wearing off, I feel like I'm literally MELTING. My encouragement to newbies? Just do it! Stick with it, even if you're not seeing progress right away. It was discouraging to go so long with my scale actually going UP, but now that I'm through it, it's falling so fast that I weigh less at night than I did in the morning. I feel like my food changes are becoming more natural, and since SP added the Blackberry app, I can track my food/water/cardio/weight right from my phone. Makes it super convenient.

My Goals:
I want to be able to horse around with my kids and not be out of breath. **Yes! I can do that!**

I want to not be so clumsy, hurting myself all the time (which means that I want to increase my balance and coordination). **I sprained my ankle over the summer, but overall, I'm MUCH less clumsy! My body does what I want it to, now.**

My Program:
** (10/25/10) Right now, I'm doing the HCG diet. I have a week to go, and I've lost 12 pounds. I'll try it again in January to take off the last few.**

I'm mostly going to focus on cardio, but not to the extent that I get tired of it. I HATE cardio, so I'm trying to pace myself. 800 calories a week is my goal.

Also, I'm focusing on working on my food intake by journalling everything. I used to do that, but got away from it... and got fat again. So.. 1200-1500 calories a day for me.

Personal Information:
Several years ago, I lost about 85 pounds, pretty much through calorie counting (see me in the wedding pic above? I'm a bridesmaid). Since I quit doing that, I've put about 50 of those pounds back on again. I've tried every diet in the book, but I always feel hungry or deprived, so I'm going back to the "You can eat whatever you want but you have to write it down" diet. That helps me stay within my guidelines, plus allows me to have the occasional cheat meal. Gotta have cheat meals!

**I'm a little tired of plateau-ing, so I started the HCG thing in the middle of October to kick it up a notch. I quite like it.**
