My name is Pam, I'm 26 years old and I've started and stopped with sparkpeople more times than I even remember. What has stayed consistent is that every time I restart the program, my initial weight has gone up significantly, and the amount I need to lose as well.

I'm a 5th year University student and just recently quit smoking (10 year habit). I've had a difficult few years and a number of health problems, and I'm pretty convinced that the only thing I can control with regards to any of that is knocking off the bad habits and picking up some good ones.

I've been working really hard to develop better habits in many different areas, and I think that with a bit of support and a lot of determination, I can do just about anything.

I've lost ten pounds so far this year, just with eating healthy (and no more takeout) and exercising. I can't believe how much different that has made me feel already. I just feel better in so many ways, and for the first time, I actually see what a difference healthy living can make!

My biggest incentive right now is a vacation to Florida which includes a cruise to the Bahamas. It's the first vacation I'll have had since I graduated high school, and a complete treat from my boyfriend. I've wanted to get away for so long that I'm determined to be able to get into a bikini for this, and enjoy the experience in every way possible. The only problem is that we leave in three weeks, so there's A LOT of work left to do!

I'm excited for all that is to come, and believe that this will be the time that I finally achieve the goals I've set out to accomplish.

I work alot and I haven't had a vacation in years. I would love to go to the Bahama's, but when I do, I'd love to be comfortable in a bikini as opposed to a poncho! (For the record, the blurb in this section has been written here for over 3 years!)

    Pam, I understand the waning but remember, you are in this for the long haul not just getting ready to go on VACA! I wantyou to succeed! Pay particular attention to Dr Birdie! She has lost a lot of weight and she has written some blogs about going on cruises and even gaining weight while on a cruise. You need to stay active always! The exercising part you need to make your own. Do things that make you want to keep coming back! Experiment with all sorts of things to find your passion. For me I love going to my fitness center cause it gets me out of the house and with people I enjoy being with. But I am retired so I have all sorts of time to spare. Consider this a kick in the pants. Go to it girlie girl! Good luck with your healthy lifestyle changes that will last a lifetime! It's in your BEST interest. Spark on!
