Welcome to Ruth's Page

I am so excited to be here and to be a part of a whole new community. Excited to meet this challenge head on. I am going to share a story that reminds me of Sparkpeople.

In my Native community we built a bridge that crosses over a brook, in which we named it the "Crossing over Bridge." At this bridge we place the photos of our loved ones who have crossed over to the other world in the roof of this bridge. At the dedication ceremony there was a large candle which was lit; each person at the ceremony held a smaller candle, then lighting ours with the larger one. After speaking the words of dedication, holding our candles, the flame from the large candle was blown out....(the larger candle representing our loved one).....as the flame dwindled to smoke we looked around and saw the light from all the other candles....the meaning to this story was to reflect on the larger candle, (our loved one) and by seeing all the small candles lit symbolizing all the lives this loved one had touched... even though the larger candle no longer burns.
As is with Sparkpeople one candle touches many lives... thank you Sparkpeople...

I never thought I would be a small dog owner. Now look at me! When I move out I'm planning on becoming a breeder and having my own little pack of chihuahuas! But I do want a larger dog, at least one for protection. I'm thinking of about getting a rottweiler that is bred and raised to act on command. I talked to this guy the other day and they sounded really amazing. You can train them to do certin things. Like his for example, he can say a phrase and they all will lay down so he can shoot an intruder. Or his male lead dog won't bark when an intruder comes in, he'll stand by the door where the intruder is coming in and will lock down on his genitals. I want one.

You can do it, weekend or not! Be gentle with yourself and set small goals at first, for a healthy weekend. Make just one change from a previous weekend that involved a not so great choice. You can do it!
