Long time no see.....and the struggle continues. I did not gain anymore weight since the last time I was active on this site (almost a year ago), but did not lose anymore either. At the end of August, 2012 I decided that what I have been doing (restricting calories) was not working, so I jumped over to the ONE diet/lifestyle change that I had been avoiding all these years. I decided to give Low-Carb a shot, and you know what? I have NEVER felt better! I honestly believe that I had become addicted to the carbohydrates, and my body was resistant to the insulin it was continually pumping out to process those nasty carbs. I have dropped 8.5 lbs in a little over a month JUST BY CUTTING OUT THE CARBS! I am eating lots of veggies, lean meats, eggs, some nuts and cheeses, and THAT'S IT. I am not chasing hunger all day long like I used to, and I am not constantly going back & forth to the fridge & cupboard looking for something to munch on. I literally eat an omelette (with meats, veggies, cheese) mid-morning, have a light snack in the afternoon, and then nothing until dinner...and I'm not hungry in between! My body is now burning off the fat that has been stored for way too long, and that is making a difference in my measurements as well as how I feel. 2019 days ago

Well I have sort of stalled over the summer, but have begun to pick up the weight-loss again! I've lost about 3 pounds since the last post...it's going a lot slower than I had hoped, but I am still losing, so I can't complain! I hope to AT LEAST reach the 1/2 way point by the end of October (we leave for our cruise vacation on the 29th!)...hopefully it will be more than that! All three of my kids are getting married next year (ugh), so that's even MORE stress and motivation..I don't want to be a fat mother-of-the-brides/groom! WISH ME LUCK...I think I'm gonna need it! 2455 days ago
