Hello! I am joining Spark People to continue my progress towards healthier, more contented and more connected living. I am a new member of OA and have just purchased the Spark book online. I welcome any advice or ideas from those of you who have been doing this for a while!

My Goals:
Take time for myself every day. I find I am very good at taking care of others which helps me avoid dealing with issues I have about myself.

Walk my dog daily- it's good for her and it's good for me!

Eat breakfast every day- I eat less during the day when I begin with a healthy meal.

Plan and eat 3 healthy meals and 2 healthy snacks each day- I make poor decisions when I am hungry and shaky.

Exercise daily: stretch or strength training;

Lose wieght- should happen as I do all the above. :-)

My Program:
To start, I am logging all food and drinks I consume.

I am eating three healthy meals of about 350-400 cals per day, and one+ snack of 250-400 cals for a daily total of 1250- 1600 cals max.

I need protein with every meal, monounsaturated fatty acids with every meal, and fresh veggies and fruits every day. Little to no breads, processed carbs, but high fiber grains instead.

Personal Information:
I am married, 47years-old, and a mother of two adult children. I work full time and try to balance work stress and home life with too few hours each day...

Other Information:
I am a caretaker at heart and have diffidulty taking care of myself. I tend to look after others before myself. As I do this, I leave too little time to exercise, eat right, care for my own spirit and soul.

This time, as I try to lose weight once more, I will take care of myself, even as I care for others.

I will also surround myself with those that can support me. After all, as I am discovering, I am worth caring for, too!
