Fit for life!
Update as of Feb, 2019: What a difference 10 years makes! I'm fitter, healthier, stronger than a decade ago, perhaps even TWO decades ago. Lost 50 lbs in 2017, have kept it off for a year. I finally understand what it means to change my lifestyle, rather than go on a "diet". After retiring, I started strength training in earnest in 2018 and that has made a huge difference in my hiking endurance, kayaking, snowshoeing. I still plan, track and weigh daily; get 30 - 60 mi of vigorous exercise most ...

I finally understand what it means to change my lifestyle, rather than go on a "diet". After retiring, I started strength training in earnest in 2018 and that has made a huge difference in my hiking endurance, kayaking, snowshoeing. I still plan, track and weigh daily; get 30 - 60 mi of vigorous exercise most days of the week; and work on mindfulness of my nutrition and my eating habits every day. Although I used other programs to lose weight, I love SP for ongoing support and resources.
As of Feb, 2008: I'm determined to make this a true lifestyle change. Although normally active, have gained weight gradually over the past 10 years. Going through some major changes this year: moved to wonderful Oregon; looking for a new career for this next phase of my life; approaching my 60th B-Day in Dec. Lots to do!

Be more fit at 60 than I was at 50.
Achieve and maintain a healthy weight.
My Program:
Monitoring daily nutrition and weed out the problems.
Exercising (walking, hiking, kayaking) for at least 30 minutes a day, 5 days a week.
Doing strength exercises 3 days a week.
