I just realized that I haven't changed this part of my page in a while..and it was saying very little except that I haven't settled on my goals--now I have..and I'm ready to state them.....I not only want to run, excercise at the gym I want to feel good in my skin....for good...I have adopted a new eating style..and it's working so far..soon my tape will start moving once more..I believe that this journey is not only physical but emotional and spiritual too...I thank all the people that have helped me so far on my journey..I'm going to try and remind myself daily that all things come from God above--I am only a follower...and that I can do this through Him that created me...and all of us in His own image...thanks Rico

Jogging, eating right, joined biggest looser contest..arobic excercises, yoga, the treadmill, fitness videos..bike riding, Boxing

Now that I'm a grad. again....I hope to dedicate more time to reading what I want to read...which are mysterys--love John Grissham books..I have a want and a need to read more in the Bible--and to memorize as much as possible..that's one of my new goals...rico

    I just read a cure for bad Mondays!

    It said that when you're feeling groggy or foggy to sniff ground
    sage for an energy boost. Research showed that sage aroma
    suppresses the enzyme acetylcholinesterase that prevents the
    brain's ability to feel alert and happy! Not only that, but aromatherapy
    experts say sage can improve mental focus AND memory!

    My personal suggestion is...fresh ground or a good brand of coarse
    ground sage. The cheap stuff is very offensive to my nose.

    Hi, it's been a while since I've stopped by your page to check on you so I thought I'd take a quick moment; how are things going for you?

    I read somewhere that one lady stacked empty butter cartons on top of each other as she lost the weight so that she could see what it looked like. Now I picture every pound of my excess weight as a brick of butter; which is also pure fat. So any weight I lose, I mentally stack in the corner of my mind to remind me what it looks like.

    Hey... Keep reminding yourself how hard you worked and that you deserve to lose for your efforts; and by all means, keep on keeping on!

    Hey; check it out! I read that for people who have trouble losing weight around the waist that there are two kinds of healthy carbs you should be eating: beans and whole grains. No kidding!

    In a study, obese men and women who were put on a heart-healthy diet lost more belly fat when their daily meals emphasized these two foods rather than refined grains.
    After an 18-month study, all participants ended up losing about the same amount of weight. BUT the people eating diets rich in beans and whole grains had especially good results around their middles. And all that was required for extra middle melting was eating whole grains instead of refined grains and replacing two daily grain servings with a couple of servings of legumes -- like lentils, chickpeas, or beans. These changes created a low-glycemic-index diet that was satisfying, blood-sugar-balancing, and belly-fat blasting! Pretty cool, hunh?

    I'm just passing through this time with this strange bit of trivia...

    You're not going to believe this, but I just read that chewing gum is a brain booster! Seriously! The Researchers at Northwestern University found that people who chew gum have increased blood flow to the brain and an increase in cognitive performance. Moreover, people who chew gum have less stress, which protects brain cells from stress related hormones. The researchers recommended chewing gum particularly when you have challenging mental work to do.
