    emoticon Hello! Hello! Hello and HAPPY MONDAY! Time for my friendly weekly update. emoticon

    Many of my friends had birthdays this last week. I hope each day as you get older, you get wiser too! emoticon

    My marathon training is going. I get all my workouts in and even though I am slow, I amaze myself that I can walk/run over 40 miles in a week. emoticon

    If you noticed, I changed my avatar. I really, really love DIsney World so I changed to a picture of Winnie and Tigger took last year. Funny thing is that I am not use to it yet and I keep wondering who it is when I see it.

    Also in the news, I went to a party Saturday night. I am not the partying type but we are from New Orleans and friends had a Mardi Gras party. Wouldn't you know I was bad and from the cajun food, beer, and hurricanes I gained like 5 pounds. I know it will be gone in a few days, but geesh, can't I have some control. Good thing I only go to one party every three years. Oh, I also had a doozy of a headache on Sunday.

    Well Wednesday starts Lent season and that is always good for a drop in five pounds(if you give up sweets)

    I am trying to relax in between the loads of laundry and the house straightening. I sure did enjoy the three day weekend last week! emoticon

    Hope life has been going good for you SPARK friend. Managing variables can make the difference of a great week to a bummer week. Yesterday when I was out, and all this week for that matter, I was a little down. In reviewing my life in the past few weeks, I had no stress to give me this depressed feeling. I wasn't sick, I love my job, Family is great, blah,blah,blah.

    I think I am a little down because of all the unrest in the world.

    emoticon It's Sunday morning and I am sitting here with a hot cup of tea trying to compose my thoughts/plans for the week. I really wanted to talk about never giving up, so I found this by Conrad Hilton:
    Achievement seems to be connected with action.
    Successful men and women keep moving.
    They make mistakes, but they don't quit.

    So if you have made a mistake this week, BIG DEAL. Pick yourself up and start again. I feel so lucky to be healthy and in control of myself right now.

    emoticon emoticon On another note, there were so many blogs this week from friends with chronically ill parents. I experienced that last year and know how hard it is to take care of them. You literally have no time for yourself and you tend to slip back into bad habits. If any of you have extra energy this week, please send it in your thoughts and prayers to those who need the strength and sleep to continue caring for their loved ones.     emoticon It has been an interesting week for many of my Spark friends. Snow days and shoveling seems to have been the highlight for many of you.

    Your blogs have been filled with new recipes, new fitness routines, and lots of organizing spaces. January always seems to be the month of "new"s.

    Just a reminder to set your goals for the week. It always helps me to have a plan. I have done much better with the strength workouts, but boy am I ready for a rest day when Friday comes. emoticon
