Back again with new goals!
I joined Spark back in August 2007. I went from 190 to 140 pounds in roughly six months the first time, which was awesome,
but maintaining has always been a struggle.

I love to walk. In January of 2014 a very good friend of mine talked me into doing the Space Coast (Half) Marathon. It is the longest running Marathon in the state of Florida and a qualifying race for the Boston Marathon. From January to November I trained to walked 13.1 miles. My best training time was 2:57 and I was happy with that. On race day I walked with my friend and we timed in at 3:33. I was disappointed but was happy to complete the race with my friend.
The following January my husband got the crazy idea of doing the full marathon. Walking 26.2 miles. The thought was completely overwhelming but we signed up. Again, training through summer! Unfortunately my husband ended up with an injury and was not able to complete his race. I finished at 6:11, not too bad but missing my goal of 6 hours. I felt great to have accomplished 26.2 miles, but made the decision to stick with half marathons in the future!
I signed up for the half marathon once more in January. My goal was to walk/sprint the 13.1 miles in 2:45. On the morning of November 27th, 2016 I was very nervous. I had had a rough couple of months and my training was off and I was not at my best. I followed a group that was also trying for 2:45. At the finish line the time said 2:44:33.
It is time to change up my routine. I detest weight training, but I know how important it is. This year I will be adding weight training, bicycle riding with my son and kickboxing. Time to change it up!
I am back up to almost 160 pounds again. My goal is to get back to 135. I did it once, I can do it again! THIS time it won't go back up!
And yes, I will be doing the Space Coast (Half) Marathon in 2017!
