Too little time for myself


I'm a 70 yr old single parent of a 36 yr old young man. I was Boy Scout Leader in my community
(20+ years) - Troop 136 Grove City Oh in the Ohio Valley District. My favorite hobbies are cross stitching, soap making, ceramics, beading/jewelry making, geocaching and gardening . I'm more into walking than anything else.

 One of my favorite quotes I use to tell my Boy Scouts is "The choices you make today determine who and what you become tomorrow" and one I tell myself is" If you continue to live in a cocoon you will not become a butterfly" The 2nd quote is the hardest to live by for myself.

    Wow! No GPS??? That IS impressive! We used to go geocaching a lot, but then life got hectic. I still enjoy sharing it with the kids though. A Geocaching Merit badge sounds like a great idea. I wonder if that's just for your region/USA or would it be available in Canada too?

    Thanks for the comments on my blog. No apology came today - but things are back to "normal".

    Do you go geocaching with your scouts? I work at a museum/community centre and take a lot of scout and guide groups out on the trails. They LOVE it!

    Thanks for the encouraging comments my blog! I didnt mean to sound like I was discouraged. It was mostly tougue in cheek stuff! emoticon I am excited about this trip and willing to "get it together" and do whatever it takes! I see you like geocaching. We LOVE it too. Hopefully we can do alittle while we are in Arizona. Reading about your Boy Scouting brings back memories...sigh... my son (age 31 now)loved scouting. One of our best friends is District exec. for our area so we are now watching his 2 young boys grow up in scouting! Such fun!

    Hi Patty ... Thank you for adding me as a friend; I have added you as well. We had a great RVing weekend ("camping is in-tents" as they say at Camp Wilderness ... we were in our 37' motor home this weekend). It was really hot when we left Friday (mid nineties) but cooled down the the high seventies Saturday and Sunday. We saw a few threatening clouds, but had no rain until we left for home today. Great friends, great weather ... what more could a girl ask for?
