Hello from Costa Rica! I'm a Costa Rican, living in Costa Rica.

I'm a proud member of the Awesome A Team - 5% Challenges.

My weight loss story:

For about 3 years, I was unable to get the motivation and determination (the big push) necessary to embrace and enjoy a complete change in my lifestyle seriously, until I got into the 5% challenges. I was always procrastinating the big start.

Thanks to the 2014 Summer 5% Challenge, I lost 5.4 pounds. And in the 2014 Fall 5% Challenge, I lost 4.6 pounds more and reached my goal weight (a total of 10 lbs lost).

I am extremely happy I've found invaluable friends along this lifelong journey here at SP.

My Goals:
To have fun by sharing and accomplishing goals together with my SP friends in this lifelong health journey.

I reached my goal weight on Nov 8, 2014. My center weight is 130 pounds. The lifelong and so far difficult maintenance challenge continues.

My Program:
The Spring 5% Challenge 2018
-Exercise Commitment
A minimum of 60 m of exercise, walking/hiking/dancing, 6 days a week. This may include 30 min or more of yoga stretching and ST, 2 days a week.
-Nutrition Commitment
As for my diet, nothing specific but to eat as healthy as possible within my calorie range to maintain or lose weight.

Personal Information:
I live in Grecia, Alajuela, Costa Rica, in the mountains (at an altitude of 4757 ft). I'm 59, married for 40 years. Three grown children already gone, and three grandkids. I'm a part time caregiver at home for my granddaughter 8, and her toddler brother almost 3. I'm also fully in charge of the well being of my elderly mom. She's currently living in an excellent elderly care facility which she loves.
My first SparkFriend in this page is my daughter and my granddaughter (pic taken about 7 years ago).

Other Information:
Besides my family, I enjoy my daily routine of walking, caring for my pets, 4 dogs - 3 cats, Sparking, reading, watching movies or TV series. I also love to travel overseas, but can't afford to do so as often as I'd like to.

This challenge caught me right at the tail-end of Easter. I joined the A Team but I missed the official deadline. If you need to boot me out, I totally understand. Just lemme know.

Thanks for reading and responding to my blog. Yes, first I called my Cardiologist, and he did some checking on my records and finally called me back. Told me to get with my PCP or go directly to my Neurologist. Well, with Cigna, I do not have a "regular" one, have to go through my PCP to get to a specialist -- just another way to add $$$ to their income. So I have to be very aggressive with my PCP to get an appointment on Fri. at 10:20. I'm sure all she will do is refer me to a Neurologist, and who knows how long that will take to get in to see a specialist. Maybe I can talk her or one of her staff to make the call, they always get quicker appts.

    Hugs, Eve
    I'll keep you posted
