2011: It's a brand new me and I have to say my secret is that I took care of ME! I was in the BLC awhile back and was admin with Yo (Yo~Meow rocks!) for what, 3 or 4 rounds?!? I dunno but I do know that during my time with BLC I met some of the BEST people! The problem I did have was I spent too much time captaining my winning teams (yep, I was the winningest cappy with a 5 for 5 record of a team win each time I cappied). And yes, that may seem like bragging, so what, I DID IT and made the best darn teams and promoted healthy weightloss all along. BUT - the problem I had was I gave up too much of the "me" time and didn't make the progress I should've. So I took my "me" time and am now not only back in Onederland but I kicked it's A$$! I'm in the 170's now and only a few pounds away from my healthy weight. So hear this ... don't ever be afraid to take your "me" time. STOP the yo-yo'ing of the same pounds over and over. I see the same people here doing the same thing, losing the same pounds just to see their name in lights, how lame is that? You should be doing this for your health and nothing more {steps off soapbox}. I think the world of BLC and know they are the best Spark team out there. Use the tools to get healthy and lose the weight for good and make some awesome friends!

... here's a bit about me and my journey. I was basically normal weight until college and then the pounds started creeping up (and more than just the usual freshman 15!) I didn't become officially overweight until I was about 26 and that's when the weight all went to my belly. But at 5'8", I actually looked pretty "normal" as long as I didn't tuck in my shirt!

I've been working on living a healthy lifestyle on & off since then and it has been a struggle. A few years ago my Dr told me I have PCOS (not sure what took them so long! I had ALL the symptoms since I was 18 years old!!) Anyway, it just makes it that much harder to lose weight.

Once I was over 200 pounds, I stopped doing lots of things like visiting friends, attending reunions, etc. and once I hit my max of about 272 I hated going out altogether or putting much effort into my appearance at all (since I felt it just didn't do any good).

I've started and restarted my exercise weight loss journey many times and did break into Onederland June 2008 while training for the Anchorage Marathon (which unfortunately resulted in a stress fracture, check out my souvenior crutches in my pics ;-).

I struggle most with my food choices (it seems to be all or nothing) so exercise has been the thing that saves me. But since the stress fracture and then work crazy busy mid-December thru mid-January, I've been completely out of sorts.

So here I am again, back up around 230 staring in the mirror and I'm not happy! But, I have found my motivation again, and I WILL get back to Onederland, especially since I know Spark and all you fabulous people have my back!

HI!!!! Thanks for the info. I am working on it, and have only been at it for about 2 weeks now, but I wasn't quite sure how to work the calorie cycling the info you gave was WONDERFUL!!! Thank you THANK YOU!!! I will up my workout on high days. So do you do the every other day? High/Low, or do you do High/Low/Low? etc? I've been at a plataue now for a couple months (after dropping 84 pounds in a year) and so I though it was time to mix it up since I was at a stand still. But the past 2 weeks I've gained 3 pounds! EEk!! So I was kind of getting worried that I wasn't doing something right! lol So maybe I just need to be SURE to up work outs on high days and slow down on low days. I usually try to walk every day at lunch....but I guess I just need to do MORE on high days. Oh another question sometimes I have issues on getting HIGH days in, so what do you eat on high days? Without eating the bad things? Sorry I'm full of questions aren't I??? I have about 20 more pounds I'd like to lose and I hear it's the toughest to lose the last bit....I always worried about maintaining. LOL Turns out I should have been worring a little more about GETTING there! hahaha

Okay sorry I'll stop blabbing on your page. :) But thank you so much for the info! I'll be sure to up my exercise this week and keep at the cycling and see what happens! :) thanks again!

Having a blast here with Chaos, but on a more serious note. I wanted to say thank you for all you do for Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. I too am a big supporter for Leukemia research. I lost my mom in January of 2010 to Leukemia (AML). And I participate in light the night. Glad to have met another supporter!!!
