I originally started at Sparkpeople on 06 October 2010 and have been back and forth.

Back again this round from August 13, 2012. This time I'm doing things!

It's time to get busy, get serious and get my rear in shape! I've been overweight my whole life and I'm only 43! I want the next 43++++++ years to be healthier and more active.

I have a whole new level of determination and "gumption" :)

I CAN do it! I KNOW I can, watch me!

My Goals:
My goal is simple. Stop giving myself reasons why I can't, and start telling myself I CAN, and I WILL!

My Program:
I try to go to the gym 3-4 times a week and had a trainer set me up on a circuit that is easy on my knees. My other project is that I always wanted to be a runner, not running after junk food, but running just for fun. A knee injury currently prevents me from running, but my goal is to be able to this year. It's the one exercise I can always take with me wherever I go, So here I go!

Personal Information:
I'm an American born in Hawaii, raised in Texas and now living in the country of Sweden. It feels like most people in Sweden are very health conscious and physically fit. I stick out like a sore thumb, but I'm going to change that!!!

Other Information:
I know I am not alone on this journey. God is with me. I may stumble and I may fall but only through His grace will I get up again and plow on. I cannot do this without HIM and my faith in Him is strong. I am thankful for all the blessings in my life and know that with God's help I can reach my goal!

    Way to go Kelly!! You have just kept at it and not given up. You inspire me! I am still falling and getting back up. Trying something new now that seems to be working for me. It's all about keeping at it and finding what works. I've just had a little progress lately but I think I will start seeing things change soon. At least I maintained for awhile and not gained! haha

    I totally enjoyed your post on the message board "scale" topic re: whether to weigh daily, weekly, monthly, etc.

    Your description is EXACTLY what I do!!

    With each detail you mentioned, I laughed harder and harder!

    For anyone else reading this comment, here is what Kelly had written:

    "I weigh myself every morning, butt naked and take the scrunchie out of my hair (and make sure my hair is dry). LOL And certainly after my morning pee, and if I'm really lucky I'll have had a BM the night before. I thought about putting my contact lenses on too, instead of wearing my glasses but haven't gone "that" crazy yet. For me, it helps to either motivate me for the day or helps me to proceed with caution!"
