I was 125 pounds or under all my life until my hormones went crazy. Bam! Gained 17 pounds. I am determined not to let my body dictate what I weigh. I will weigh a healthy weight for me and I will also concentrate on firming up and getting more exercise. The time is now. My heart needs to get stronger, my muscles need to work harder, and my fat to lean ratio needs to be much better. Yes, I am over 50 and some say we older folks should have a few extra pounds on us in case we get sick so we don't wither away. Guess what? If we don't stay in shape, we WILL get sick! I am going the prevention route. Or trying to anyway.

My Goals:
To feel and be healthier, to lose the hormone weight, to firm up and develop muscle, to gain more stamina

My Program:
I follow the Mediterranean Diet as my cardiologist (strongly) suggested. But that can be high in calories with all the nuts, beans, legumes, olive oil, and other things. Moderation is the key. I will be able to better monitor how many calories I am consuming while still following the heart healthy diet.

Personal Information:
Mom of two adults sons, a feisty Yorkie and a really chill cat. Happily married. I am a writer and work from home which means a lot of sitting and snacking any time I want. A challenge but one I am ready to take on. A few health issues and injuries have led to a 15-17 pound weight gain and I am determined to get rid of it in a healthy way.

Other Information:
Night owl. I cannot break the late night habit. It's probably bad for me but I doubt I will ever change.
