I have struggled with weight virtually my entire life. The only "diet" that I ever successfully lost a great deal of weight on was Atkins back in the mid 90s when I lost 96 pounds. But then, I became pregnant with my last child in 1999 and gained back all the weight and then some. I became so discouraged that I never tried again. I call sugar my drug of choice. I am in my 50s now and ready to try again so I can enjoy an active life and live longer.

I am lucky enough to live in Florida on 4 acres where I raise zebus (miniature cattle), Nubian goats and New Zealand rabbits. I am very interested in self sufficiency but since I work full time and I'm horribly out of shape, I am not there yet. I would love to be in shape so I can expand my little "farm" and grow a large vegetable and fruit garden, and maybe get some more animals. I love being outdoors.

My husband is from Arizona and we lived in Northern Arizona for a time and we absolutely loved its incredible natural beauty. Life circumstances caused us to relocate to Florida but I promised my DH that we'd live in Flagstaff when we retire. Although it is still a long way off (at least 10 years), I want to lose all of this excess weight and get fit so that I can enjoy the outdoor life, beautiful scenery and fascinating places that are so abundant there. I dream of someday being able to climb down and back up one of the many beautiful canyons, or even just walk to the edge without getting exhausted. I especially don't want to be a burden to my husband and family by being disabled in my senior years due to my weight. I don't want to leave my husband alone in his old age because I might die prematurely due to obesity. I want to enjoy my retired life after working so hard for over 40 years. I need to beat the obesity demon NOW!

My Goals:
Banish sugar and highly processed carb laden foods from my life and lose 150 pounds.

My Program:
Moderate Low Carb
NO Sugar!
I also try to pay attention to the daily nutrition reports so I can adjust my foods for optimum nutrition and take supplements for those nutrients I can't manage with food.

Personal Information:
Very happily married (second time's the charm), 3 children,
4 stepchildren. Work full time in financial services industry. My hobbies are raising Zebus (miniature cattle), Nubian goats and New Zealand rabbits. I also love sewing and crafting.

Other Information:
I want to focus more on how I feel than what the scale says so I only weigh myself on my pay days. That means I only weigh in twice a month.
