Updated July 2018: I am less than a year and a half away from turning the big 4-0. In all honesty, I feel so much older than that, though I'm told I look younger. I struggle to walk down my hill of a driveway and back to get the mail. I don't sleep well between back pain and having trouble breathing in certain positions. I have "bad" knees and a "bad" back. I have an appointment coming up with a cardiologist because my doctors say that my heart murmer is getting louder. I struggle to walk 10 minutes on the treadmill or do 10 minutes of strength training. Sometimes I feel like every step is a struggle. Every breath a struggle. I weigh over 300 pounds. I have to do something. A couple years ago, I was down to 252, but I plateaued for months and never reached 250. I got so discouraged that I slowly slipped back into bad habits. Saw 260 again. Then 270. Before I knew it, I was almost 300. Then, I crossed 300. On our last out-of-town-for-a-family-emergency trip, I hit 318 from eating every meal out for a week. I can't seem to be able to make much progress. Clearly, what I'm doing isn't enough. Clearly, I need to work harder. I've struggled with my weight since I was 10 years old. I'm so tired of the struggle. And now, I fear for my future.
