I have been struggling with weight for most of my life. I cannot remember a time in my life that I was at a healthy weight. During 2008 I started to lose weight and by March of 2009 I had lost a little over 100 pounds. However, I have learned there is a right way for me to lose weight and a wrong way. I cannot have someone else tell me what to eat. I followed a diet that had seven different meal plans and you ate the same plan for a week. When I reached week seven I was told to switch off between week two and three. I am a dedicated person but could not eat the same things forever. Pair this with a series of unfortunate events and the scale began to continually creep back up.The funny thing about weight is that it goes on about fifty times faster than it comes off. I ended up gaining that 100 pounds back plus more putting me at my heaviest weight of 380 pounds.

However, I am no longer living in the past but taking the valuable lessons I have learned and I am moving forward. I am learning how to overcome and addiction to food, deal with emotions without using food, learning how to eat better, portion control, enjoying the journey I am now, gaining self-control, and most importantly learning how to make weight loss and one day maintenance a life style.
I have been working on losing weight for the second time around since the beginning of 2011 and have lost over 100 pounds.

I have great faith that the Lord will help me accomplish my goals and walk with me as go down this path again. With Him all things are possible and I know that this can be accomplished with his help and hard work.

I am learning that I must learn to love the journey and be happy now because this is a long hall. I am continually learning self-control and the importance of not trading what I want most for what I want at that moment. The importance of not hitting the snooze button so I wake up for my morning workouts. How to live a life that does not revolve around food. It amazes me the power food can have over one's life and how this can lead to morbid obesity. Each day has its temptation but I am amazed by God's grace and the redemption that He has given me.

My Program:
Concerning diet, I am on the diet doc program. I am able to eat whatever I want as long as I stay in my macro nutrient range. I track my food intake daily.

For exercise I weight train three days a week and jog between three to four days a week.

Personal Information:
I live near Columbus, Ohio. I work with individuals that have developmental disabilities and volunteer with the Special Olympics. I have a great family that has provided me with great support through this journey. I enjoy reading, camping, being outside in general, biking, being with my family and friends, and trying new things.
