I am strong in Jesus' name! I am winning this battle with Him!!!

I just turned 66 this January 2020. I'm married. I have two beautiful grandchildren. I live in Staten Island NY. My children really encouraged me to change the path I had been going so I have decided to take a stand. That's why I joined SparkPeople in 2014. I want to live a long healthy life. I have physical challenges but will overcome in Jesus Name!

I Read this from another Persons SparkPage and really liked it:

Don't say, 'If I could, I would.' Say instead, 'If I can, I will.'
It is our philosophical set of the sail that determines the course of our lives. To change our current direction, we have to change our way of thinking, not our circumstances. I used to say, 'I sure hope things will change.' Then I learned that the only way things are going to change for me is when I change. Disgust and resolve are two of the great emotions that lead to change. We generally change ourselves for one of two reasons; inspiration or desperation. If you don't like where you are, change it! You're not a tree. "
- Jim Rohn

Decisions:

D - Decide on an action plan.
E - Every thing is possible if you believe and work at it.
C - Consider your choices carefully.
I - Invite others to join you on you quest to become healthy.
S - Savor the feeling of each victory, big or small.
I - Invaluable lessons sometimes hurt, but are necessary for growth.
O - Optimism over pessimism,
N - Never quit trying or you will fail.
S - Say to yourself every day, "I AM WORTH IT!" because you are."

emoticon emoticon As I was visiting working my spark challenges, I read so many comments concerning regaining the weight after reaching goal weight.

This concerns me, my friends, as I too have regained some weight. Even though I hadn't reached my goal weight. I had slipped into depression and had stopped exercising. I do know the reason behind my weight gain.

I would like to point out that this is not a diet, it is a way of life. It is not something you do to fit into that special dress or to look good for your daughter's up coming wedding or your reunion. This has to be a new learned way of eating healthy for the rest of your life and exercising regularly. I cannot stress it enough that this must become a life style for you it YOU WANT to remain at your healthy goal weight.

Once you get to your goal weight, you may want to discuss with your doctor on how best to increase your calories for weight maintenance. Yes, I said increase your calories. You will slowly increase your calories just a little, in order to maintain that new you. But you must continue to exercise in order not to regain weight.

Again, I cannot stress this enough that you need to talk to your doctor or even a dietician. Losing weight and exercising is a great way to get in shape, but there is so much more to maintain that new found health.

I want all of you to be Happy Healthy and Fit.....read, research and talk to fitness experts, doctors and dieticians.
    Love

Hi my Beautiful Spark Friends, here is our new mantra:

Today I am shedding pounds as I shred my self-doubt,
Day in and day out, I develop the habits of healthy eating,
Today I am transforming my body into calorie-burning machine,
The more I exercise, the better I feel and the better I feel the more I exercise!
