JOYINKY
Good Morning! You have been on my mind a lot so I thought I should write. I so identify with where you are in your journey. Been there, done that. I've erased my "journey blogs" but the short version is that every decade of my adult life I've gotten to goal weight then gained it all back and more; until in my 50's I just quit! Refused to diet anymore and went up probably to around 240 (I was a size 24, no pictures and no official weight because I wasn't weighing.) Didn't weigh until after I decided to eat healthier and was on my way down. Then, Dr's office visit, I weighed 215. Still not dieting but beginning to eat for health and as a result very slowly losing weight. Became a little more active too. As I felt better I continued making small changes. In my 60's then, I decided to start eating vegetarian. Other changes, and the way I "felt" motivated me to start counting calories again. Not dieting, eating an average of 2000 calories a day figuring my weight would come to where ever it was supposed to be. Lost 1-1.5 pounds a month and eventually reached my goal weight (the time-line is on my sparkpage) which wasn't even a goal. Good health was the goal! I never dreamed that I'd be this size ever again! But then, my weight started creeping up again! Oh no! Old fears kicked in! That's when someone introduced me to SP and my story changed! Now 70, I'm in my 7th year of maintenance. How that came about is in my blog of January 6, One Year Of Attitude Adjustment, if you go to my "summary view" in blogs and go to the last page, scroll to bottom. It pretty much describes what's working for me. But you can add in a lot more gardening and hooping as life keeps changing and getting better. It's about healthy choices. Food wasn't really the problem for me; I knew how to make healthy choices. Inactivity was the problem; busy is NOT the same as active. Didn't mean to be so lengthy! Be well. Hugs. Joy 3132 days ago
