I am a student who has always struggled with body image, but I am finally figuring out how to eat for my optimal health and how to enjoy exercise, while balancing school and work too.
I love to cook, and especially when I know I am making something both delicious and good for me. I still like to go out for dinner every now and then, but when I do, I usually wish I had stayed home! Not only have I lost weight over the past couple of years, but I save a ton of money by buying groceries. My boyfriend and I have a date every weekend - at the grocery store, where we can spend hours picking out delicious foods and planning meals for the upcoming week! Whenever I am busy with school and work, I pack plenty of snacks, and eat every few hours to keep my appetite from taking control of my mind and willpower.
I love to run and I try to strength train a few times per week, although that can feel like a chore sometimes! But I know it is good for my muscles and bones, and keeps my metabolism up, and I love the way my body looks when I am lifting weights, so I just remind myslef of those things whenever I "just don't feel like it."
I love learning about health and nutrition and educating others. I feel that too many people are simply not educated about nutrition and fitness well enough to make good lifestyle choices, and mix that with powerful marketing by restaurants, and junk and fast food companies, and it's nearly impossible to win. Educating yourself is absolutley the key to living well.
I cannot remember the last time I felt so good about my health - physical and emotional. I feel like I finally love the way I look, even on bad days when it is hard to feel beautiful, but I know it has taken hard work to get to this point, and that makes it that much more worth it. I don't think I can ever go back to a different way of living; I hope - no no no - I KNOW that I will be able to maintain my healthy lifestyle forever!

My Goals:
I am finally at a weight I am happy with, now I just have to maintain it, and I want to continue to improve my overall fitness! I also want to show people that not only are eating well and exercising wonderful for physical and mental health, but it is fun too!

My Program:
I love eating healthy because it makes me feel great! I don't deprive myself of anything, but I make getting enough good stuff the priority. I love running and being athletic, and although sometimes I feel lazy, I just try to focus on how good it feels to exercise!

    THANK YOU for your post on diet soda! Sometimes I feel like the lone voice telling people that the myth that diet soda is "toxic" for us is just that...a myth. A hoax. I'm a super-healthy eater and very conscientious about what I put in my body. One diet soda here and there is a way better alternative than a million other things we could eat or drink. Folks just don't do the research and they believe whatever the media reports, without realizing the media will report anything to sell an ad.

    I just read your post on diet soda--THANK YOU! Nice to see another skeptic/ rationalist around here (you probably noticed there's not many). Come over the the Soapbox group- Its a very active debate group with all sorts of opinions floating around!
