Hi. I am almost 47 and am shocked by how I have let myself go. I have decided it is time to take control of my life, now! So I am beginning this weight loss journey to feel better about my appearance and to stay motivated about being active in my life and with my health.

My Goals:
My goals are to take back control in my life. I will do this by following a low or no carb, high protein diet, exercising (walking 2-3 miles every other day) and participating in a slimnastics class 2 nights a week, some strength training, and toning exercises. My new goal for 2008 is to lose 20-25 pounds and maintain that weight loss!!!

My Program:
I have made a diet program using the Sparks menu system. I officially begin this on Sunday. I have made a committement to myself to take control over my life and to stay focused. I will track my progress each day by writing down my food intake and my exercise routine,

Personal Information:
I live in St. Louis, MO. I am a semi-retired school teacher who is taking a much needed break from teaching to decide what I want to do with the rest of my life. I am lucky to have a husband who supports me in this, I have 2 adult children, both in college and we are in a semi-empty nest era. I love to cook and enjoy trying new recipes. I love to be outside to work in my gard, garden and flower beds. We live in a very socially active neighborhood with friends and neighbors getting together often, almost every night just to talk and catch up on what happened that day.
