I'm a small town mom with two kids who has slowly seen the scales go up and up and up over the years. I looked in the mirror one day and said "ENOUGH"! Once I've put my mind to something, I'm off to the races. I did a pay program locally that I really liked and helped me lose 45 pounds. Falling on hard times, that was the first to get cut. I started working out at home and tried to stick with the lessons learned in the previous program. My weight loss stalled for THREE months. Not a pound lost, not one gained. It's the longest plateau I've ever had. I got on Spark and got the scales moving - DOWN - again!

There's lots of reasons why I'm doing this: for myself, my husband, my kids, my life/health. I want to look and feel good. For me, unfortunately, my self esteem is tied to my appearance (always has been). So instead of hating how I looked I decided to change it and with it has come added benefits like better self esteem.

I struggle and lose track every now and again but the greatest feeling and the one that keeps me going is seeing the number on the scale get smaller and smaller. I never want to be where I was again and hope to exude the confidence I feel inside, outward.

I am also one that does better with encouragement and support so I'm glad this place exists. :)
