Updated March 4, 2021 -I am a retired Naval Officer. My husband and I moved to Montana from Hawaii in 1996. We live 11 miles outside of a town with a population of 96 in cattle and sheep ranch country. I garden and like computer games. I have had to give up knitting and needlepoint because of arthritis in my hands. There are no fitness clubs or facilities near by-the school gym has a weight room but very old equipment. I have a Golds Gym bike which I try to use. I like walking but winter around here makes it a little difficult. I also have COPD which sometimes limits my exercise. I have always struggled with weight. Since 2000, I have gained an average of 4 pounds per year. Now it all and more has to come off so I can be around to enjoy my children and grandchildren. I was with Fat Secret for a long time and got bored. I love SP. Since I started with SP I lost 25 pounds and then I gained it all back. Knowing I can do it is important. At age 69, it gets harder to lose and especially to get the exercise. I do get some walks in. I mostly exercise inside. My biggest challenge is over eating. My husband is on a 3 meal a day schedule when I would like to be on a 2 meal per day. My journey to weighing 175 pounds is started as of 9/1/2017. I actually joined SP in 2012 but I have reset. My new challenges are arthritis in my back and bursitis in my hip. I now have a collection of fitness bands to do physical therapy with. I am trying to avoid back surgery as the back is worse. I will be celebrating ST Patrick's Day getting an epidermal in my back. I am praying it works.

My Goals:
Lose 63 pounds to goal weight of 175 for my health especially the high cholesterol, GERD, COPD and back issues.


My Program:
Because of where I live, I am on my own diet. I find tracking food and exercise helps as well as having a support group. I don't think paying for WW or Nutrisystem does any good. I can make healthy food and the right proportions.



Personal Information:
I was born in Massachusetts, went to high school in Dobbs Ferry, NY, College at Connecticut College in New London Connecticut. After living and working around Boston, I joined the Navy and went to Newport Rhode Island then to Norfolk, Virginia, to Adak, Alaska, to Virginia Beach, VA, then to Hawaii.

I have 2 children and 5 grandchildren.
