    I thought I’d pop in again to check up on you and see how you are doing. I hope you haven’t gotten and won’t get that swine flu that’s going around!
    I haven’t heard from you; are you okay? Let me hear from you!

    Now for my latest tips and pointers: Heh! (you probably already know all this stuff, but it's me...making my rounds! LOL)

    I am surprised at how many folks don’t know what the drug information is on their prescription bottles. The first name is the trade name of the drug and the name in parenthesis is the chemical compound as in “Prilosec (Omeprazole) or for another example, Tylenol is another brand of acetaminophen.

    Exercise is important to diet because frequent physical activity improves the number and functioning of mitochondria in muscles. (Mitochondria are known as the powerhouses of the cell. They are organelles that act like a digestive system that takes in nutrients, breaks them down, and creates energy for the cell) so keep moving as much as possible!

    A good friend sent me a great article and I’d like to share the first two paragraphs with you. I believe this is very true of all of us. I am the one who puts the food in my mouth, nobody is force feeding me. I am therefore accountable for my own health as well as my weight. I have mentioned this before, but perhaps this person said it best:

    “There are a lot of things that we cannot control in life. We cannot control the weather, the air that we breathe and we can't control the people around us. But we can control what we put into our mouths. Many people don't realize today the reason they don't feel well and the reason they don't have any energy. They're dealing with headaches and allergies and sometimes even more serious, chronic illnesses, simply because of what they're putting into their system everyday.
    Americans lead the world in heart disease. We have more cancer here per person than any other nation. We are the heaviest country with more people overweight. Some of this is hereditary, but much of it is because of the poor habits that we've developed concerning eating and because of the food that we are choosing.”

    I hope you have a very good week and will make all the ‘right’ choices in your food selections to make a healthier happier you!
