I'm struggling. Yes, that's right, I'm really struggling. I have been struggling to get 5-10 pounds off for many years now. I get close and then my weight balloons back up again. I am a lifetime WW member but gained some weight back and just can't get it off. If I stayed home, never socialized, had no friends to do lunches with and basically had no life, I probably would be at my goal weight.

I know how to eat. I know how to exercise. I have a gym in my house. I hike. I climb mountains. I walk. Sometimes I walk 16 miles.
I'm quite active most days of the week. I have a FitBit. I have an Apple Watch. I have a treadmill. I have an elliptical machine. I have lots of gym equipment at home. I have the FitBit community to motivate me and challenge me. I have the SparkPeople community to motivate and challenge me. I have it all, but still struggle with getting the weight off.

I think a lot of the problem is my body's set point theory. My body wants to stay at a certain weight and it refuses to budge. I'm sure a lot of you haven't heard of it before. Read up on it. Fascinating stuff. But, the more you diet and exercise, the set point will drop. Not an easy task to lower it. I've exercised and dieted until I just about drop, and it still wants to remain the same.

My second half of the problem is portion control and to many bad choices. I'm fine when I'm home, I weigh and measure everything. As soon as I go out with friends, I'm done in.

So, I'm gonna try and buckle down, yet again, to try and get this weight off.

I know this is not about dieting, it's about lifestyle changes. I think that might be the problem right there. Do I really want to eat healthy the rest of my life? Don't get me wrong, I do love to eat healthy. But I think more times than not, I stick with the bad choices. I mean, who doesn't love to eat all the bad stuff, right?

So as I have stated above, "moderation is the key to everything". Guess I have to really concentrate on what that really means.

My clothes are getting tighter. My BP is getting a little high. I have got to do this.

I love your beautiful kitties. Your Maya is so pretty! I love her leopard spots. I used to do a lot of walking about 10 years or so ago--I power-walked all the time, and did lots of races too, from 5Ks to full marathons. I got sidelined with a knee injury though, and then broke an ankle a couple of years after that. When I've tried to take it up again, I ended up with a lot of foot and ankle pain, so I've given that up. I do love riding, and I try to do various DVD workouts that I enjoy. I've been kind of struggling lately, because work's been busy and stressful, and it's been so hot and muggy lately that I really have to force myself. I do definitely feel better when I'm working out regularly though, so I try to remind myself of that! ;-)

Awesome you live in Murrieta! I didn't realize anyone on the I.E team lived quite so close!
My weight loss is going slowly but surely, lol. It has been helping a lot to do the Summer 5% Challenge. (Starfish Team) That group motivates me a lot and helps to keep me focused.
I love the picture of your black cat, I absolutely love cats. We unfortunately just lost our sweet boy to a crazy neighbor that shot him for crossing their yard. He looked just like yours. The police and AFV both said they were not able to do anything because it would be our word against theirs, that there wasn't any evidence. I kind of thought the bullet might be evidence, but what do I know. We also have a black and white girl, but she is pretty much an indoor cat. (Thankfully)
We also have 2 labs and a chihuahua mix. Labs are temporarily here as they belong to my children, but the chihuahua is mine. Still not quite sure how that happened as my husband got her for my daughter about 5 years ago. She however, decided that I was her human, and that was that.
I saw that you are team leader for WW that Spark. I have been thinking about doing WW for the accountability. Do they still offer the core program or something like that? One of my friends has been doing WW and she looks amazing. They seem to have a fun group that participates in Mud Runs, races, etc.
Thanks for taking time to introduce yourself. I added you as a friend, hope you don't mind!
    Have a great evening!
