It's not a sprint, it's a marathon. It's not about short term, it's about long term. It's not about vanity, we are ever-evolving, changing, growing, aging. It has more to do with what's on the inside than what's looking back at you in the mirror. It's about the people you love as it is as much for yourself. The World (in my case, small children) are watching, choose your words, actions, and goals accordingly.

I have found myself often thinking that if I could just get back into X pants or X weight range again, I'd be awesome. Truth be told, I have to unlearn certain behaviors and find new ways of coping. I can't obsess over the minutia because my personality always takes it to a dangerous threshold. I can't over-think as I am an instant gratification kind of person and find it easy to feel defeated if I haven't met my end goal, yesterday. It's a tightrope act that I find I white knuckle. The real goal is to find a way to no longer have a death grip and learn to live in moderation, with healthy behaviors, thoughts, and actions while, ya know... living!

Fitness Minutes: 3,525

My Goals:
European Lifestyle! I fell in love with life in Europe- eating real, rich, amazing food in smaller portions. They don't have Diet Foods or Fat Free labels! Fresh bread, cheese, meat, whole milk, amazing produce, the good stuff! Intuitive eating and moving a lot more. Dropped weight almost effortlessly after we returned from Europe and I want to build back into the swing of 3-5 miles a day 3-4 days per week as my Ultimate goal!
*Strength Training 2x per week
*Walking 1-3x per week; no more than 4 days- we live in FL! Hello, walking on the beach or the bridges that connect to the islands!!!!
*Eventually try the walk/jog 5k program if my knees agree

Take it one meal, one step, one day at a time!

My Program:
Whatever Strikes me!

We live in Florida! I can take a Sunrise Walk on the beach. I can walk over the bridge (1.3 miles when you walk there and back) that connects to the island by our home. We have amazing walking and biking trails (summer is excluded due to mosquitos in most places) that can stream for 50 miles. Throw in some strength with DVDs and/or bands and I'm good to go.

Personal Information:
I'm from the Burbs of Detroit but have lived all over it seems. I love being near the ocean and palm trees but I miss the quiet expanse of the prairie.

Other Information:
I'm a wife, mom, seed collector, future beekeeper, beach-goer, birder, reptile catcher, and chronically tired (Note: See "mom").

I love vegetable gardening aka Victory Gardening is more appropriate for what I enjoy. I'm obsessed with growing pumpkins and watermelons, and pretty much everything else. I want for our family to be able to grocery shop in our backyard. The only downside is that farmer's markets have lost their appeal. I can get more and better quality in my own yard than at the trendiest Markets. It helps that I grow heirlooms (25+% are extremely rare) almost extensively. You've gotta love living in an area where you can grow apples, bananas, pineapples, citrus, and most any other fruit/veg that you could think of! Ahhh... so many plants and so little space... kind of.

    Are you interested in a Challenge?

    The Biggest Loser goes for 10 weeks. It consists of 10 teams participating in weekly Fitness and Nutrition challenges. The Winter challenge will be getting started the beginning of December. It consists of fitness and nutrition challenges that are often in a form of a game. If for some reason you cannot do a challenge then they are modified to meat your needs. Often we do the challenge in a game form, we have BINGO and TIC TAC TOE or seasonally themed. For Fall we had a World Series and a Haunted House.
