Introduction Text I am overweight since I was around 6 years old. Overweight runs in the family. On May 20th 2009 I had a D&C and Laparoscopy and the results are not good. I have pre-cancer in my uterus and my right fallopian tube is blocked. This is a result of me having PCOS and overweight and my doc said if I don't loose weight it's going to be cancer for sure. I first was in shock and denial (sure, blame everything on overweight so you don't have to do anything more). But then I thought that I'll show her (my doc). She gave me no tips, no advise, nothing on how to handle weight loss when having PCOS, or even for that matter loosing weight. I had my second D&C at the end of August 2009 and everything is OK and back to normal. I made a promise to myself that I will continue with the weightloss. Had a major break when my family came to visit in September 2009 and could not get back in to it. Trying to get back the spark, looking for motivation and inspiration.............. December 19th 2012 I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. My doctor actually didn't use the word, only said my blood sugar is way up high and prescribed Metformin. Since December 27th I can't see with my glasses anymore and I just had new ones in March. I actually see better without, lol. Let's see what the eye doctor will say today (Dec 31st). January 4th is my appointment in the diabetes clinic. 1 hour with a nurse and 1 hour with a dietician.

My first goal is of course loosing weight and getting to a healthy BMI but I also want to get active and stay active and being able to eat healthy without tracking my food and counting calories.

I'm originally from Germany. When I was 25 I moved to the Republic of Ireland (Dublin area). In 2002 I met my now husband (he is Canadian) on the internet, met him in Feb 2003 in person and we got married in May 2003. Since Feb 2005 I'm a landed immigrant here in Canada and love it!
