Hi. I'm Sara and I just started SP and live in NW Tucson. I wanted to say that your using a pedometer to track all your steps is a great idea and I'm thinking about doing the same. I LOVE your goal of walking the trail at Machu Picchu. That's one of the destinations I want to see some day. (I love to travel!)

I have a couple of questions that maybe you can help with... I've been trying to walk more lately, but it's hard with the heat. We've been going out just before sunset. Do you have any tricks for staying cool? And, I would like to invest in a good pedometer but I'm not sure what to look for or what type to buy. I see on the Biggest Loser that they use one on their arm. Does it matter what I buy?

Thanks, and congratulations on your success thus far!

I used to live in Tucson in the 60's. My first husband was raised there and he attended UofA. I worked at Howard and Stofft Stationers back then while he was in school. We were College student poor and lived on South Side. I know and love Tucson well, but it's been a long time since I've been back.

My husband #2 was (is) a Marine. He taught firearms at Annapolis. My father was a Naval Officer, and all my boys were in the service too. Two were in Desert Storm, (one was Army & one was Air Force.) The one who was AF was stationed at Davis Monthan before shipping out to Iraq. My other son was Army too, but before the wars began. Thank God, it was hard having them involved in the fighting.

Needless to say we are very military proud. You should be very proud too. My prayers and thoughts are with you.

Keep up the walking. I know how hot it gets in Tucson during the summer. I miss the thunder storms and Sabino Canyon after the rains.

Good Job my dear! I unfortunately recorded less in March than Feb...but for some reason, I didn't wear it 10 days of the month! I did record 43 + miles, and John, who wore his more, had 84 Miles.
    Thanks for inspiring us!
