I have been overweight most of my life. Was always a couch potato and rarely exercised as a child. By my sophmore year in HS I was at my heaviest - 5'7'', 190 lbs on my way to a solid 200 lbs. By my senior year I managed to get down to 145'ish by eating better and joining the track team and/or walking a lot. Since losing the weight I tried to keep my cut off point at 160 lbs, but never TRUELY keeping the weight off. Now I'm in my 40's and noticing it getting more and more dificult to lose weight even though I now bike, hike, walk, hit the gym, and ski (weather permitting). Was diagnosed with an under active thyroid a few years ago so that doesn't help with weight loss either. Having a desk job (now turned into working from home - third shift) definitely does not help with getting motivated. When you're only 12 paces from the kitchen the food breaks become all too frequent. Then you start to think, "12 paces is enough daily activity, isn't it?" Now I'm only finding my self falling back into the old childhood couch potato habits. This is why I joined SparkPeople to break the cycle of bad eating and exercise habits. I've done it once before and I can do it again . . . and hopefully for good this time!

My Goals:
Drop some weight, of course.

Get more active.

Eat healthier.

Live hard, but not die young!

My Program:
Tracking my food intake and exercise. I have a bad habit of not recognizing what and how much I eat every day. I work from home and have a nasty habit of not getting myself active enough. I have a Fitbit so hope that will help get me more active during working hours.
