I'm Shay, from Missouri. I have lost weight before, but have not been able to commit to a consistent workout program for longer than a few months at a time. I want to work out at least 30 min, 5 or more times per week. I also want to eat at least 5 fruits and vegetables per day... I have actually gone days without eating any! I forget... But not anymore!!!

My Goals:
I am a very interested in improving my quality of life, mainly by slowing down a bit to appreciate things more, and also by taking better care of myself.

One way of taking better care of myself is to incorporate exercise every day, be it 30 minutes of cardio, weight training, an exercise video, pilates or yoga. I was very active in high school and miss being in good shape! My goal is every day, I'll settle for 5 days a week though, it is best to crawl before you walk!

I also want to eat at least 5 fruits and vegetables every day, sometimes I forget to include them in my diet, especially if I don't take the time to plan meals in advance...

My Program:
I exercise and report to several friends who are also trying to improve their lifestyle. It really helps to have someone to check in with!

Personal Information:
I started gaining weight when I went to college, just 10 pounds, but started to add more when I started full time in an office job. I used the South Beach diet to lose 50 lbs, and kept it off for 2.5 years. Then I gained 20 back, by eating out 5-7 times per week (it took a lot of effort!) Now I am getting back down to my preferred weight,my high -school weight of 130 ls, this time with mindful eating and exercise.

Other Information:
My hobbies are cooking (especially international cuisines,) literature and dance... I studied several types of dance years ago, now it is more about appreciation than practice:)
