Hi, my name is Teresa. I'm returning to SP after being absent for about a year and a half. It is very true that recording your food and activity is the key to healthy living. I'm here to focus on making better food choices and to get active again. Last time I was here I lost 25 pounds but did not keep all the weight off. I do know that I feel good when I eat well. I am only going to weigh on the 1st of the month so I don't get too caught up in just the numbers. I know the weight will come off if I make the correct choices. ...but it is the choices that I'm working on this time around.

I'm a Christian woman and mom of 3. I recently returned to college to pursue a career in Graphic and Web Design. I figure if I can return to school at 42 and earn a 4.0 GPA I can make improvements in my lifestyle. I started painting watercolors in the fall of 08. I've posted some here. I've had my own Mary Kay business for 5 years now and absolutely love it. I'm married to my wonderul husband of 10 years. He supports everything I do! I'm truly blessed.

I joined sparks because of the support. Success stories inspire me. I've yo-yoed for many years, but I'm ready to push ahead!

I'm going to leave my posts up from 2 years ago to remind myself that I can do this.

Added 11/5/07: I've been here nearly 3 months. A drop in the bucket really. I'm down 20 pounds & over a pant size. I now exercise regularly and I'm making healthier choices than I have in years. My favorite things about SP are the support from my SP buddies, trackers and I still LOVE to read the success stories! They motivate me. I also get motivated by helping to motivate others. I guess that's the way Chris (Sparkguy) intended it to be!
The last couple of weeks I will call "the blahs" because I didn't feel like watching my food intake and exercise. But you know what.... I DID IT ANYWAY. Here's the biggest difference from before!

Update 01/01/08: Well I've been here 4 1/2 months. Through the holidays it was my goal to maintain. I ended up with a 1 pound gain so I'm pleased with my results considering I didn't track as often. I'm going to start tracking again with the new year because it keeps me honest. I'm down 23 pounds since starting SP. I'd like to drop 50 pounds this year which I know is very doable! My focus for 2008 is more fruits and vegetables and 8-10 glasses of water/day plus a consistent exercise routine!

Update 06/17/08: Where to I begin, or should I say begin again. I took some time off from SP for about 3 months. I did regain some weight but only 6 pounds. I'm not happy about the gain, but I am convinced that many of my lifestyle changes made it less than it would have been had I completely gone back to my old habits. I'm looking forward to taking off that 6 and more in the months and years to come. Looking at the big picture, I'm still 22 pounds lighter than I had been a year ago and that IS progress. Here's to another 22 or more gone for next year!

1/2/10: A new day, a new year, a new decade. Bring it on and let's make it the healthiest year yet!

A minimum of 5 fruits/veggies per day. 8 glasses of water per day. Calorie range of 1250-1600. Become more active by doing something each day even if it's only 5 minutes.

    I see you're still making steady progress on the weight loss, that's Great!

    I'm still sticking with it although with the type of workouts I'm doing the weight has been stuck for a while and even has gone up a bit. I'm not concerned as my clothes are getting looser and the fat is disappearing. I think a bit of muscle gain is keeping the weight up which is fine as long as the fat goes.

    Thanks for the SparkGoodie. I need some serious de-stressing!

    To be honest, I have currently lost ALL interest in my own health and goals. Worrying about my daughter takes all I've got. I have been stopping in to SP fairly regularly to see how my friends and teammates are doing.

    Luckily for me, I am committed to making sure my dog gets a walk at least 6 days a week, so that at least gets me out for 30-40 minutes. Odd how his health and sanity seem to matter more than mine right now!

    I am trying to keep the hope alive that we can get her back on track and get all of our lives back.
