When I was little, I was thin. When I was in high school, I was average. When I graduated, I ballooned!

I was diagnosed with PCOS when I was 19. PCOS is an ovarian syndrome and along with it comes insulin resistance. Insulin resistance means a lot of things, but a huge thing it means is: whatever I put into my body gets stored as fat.

I was diagnosed with laziness when I was 10. Laziness in combination with PCOS is a deadly combo which resulted in me tipping the scales at 266 pounds in February 2010. On a 5'2" frame. Unacceptable.

With the help of friends and family, I have managed to shed 39 pounds so far. I am doing great, but need your support to KEEP doing great.

My Goals:
My biggest goal is to get my class ring off. I got my class ring in 1999 (I am Class of 2003), when I weighed 110 pounds and had a Size 5 ring.

The ring is SO stuck, my finger has grown around it. No amount of butter, grease, soap, water, etc. will get this off.

I refuse to cut it off. I want to take it off naturally. :)

But I also have other goals: I'd like to be able to put shoes on my own feet, use a regular bathroom stall, etc.

My Program:
I track calories, I make healthier choices and say no to temptations, and I do Wii Fit Plus workouts all the time. I also follow the Leslie Sansone "Get Fit in 20 Minutes Per Day" walking routines while I am on break at lunch.

Personal Information:
I love(d) nachos, movie theatre popcorn, chips, pretzels, burritos, anything salty. I am doing my best to pull out of that toxic relationship.

Help please!

    Hey girl, congrats! You're kicking butt! I was at 211, but I'm up a little cus I'm sick, and haven't worked out in like 5 days. But I'll get back on track and make it happen :-)

    Thanks for the kind words Misti, I'm glad that the inspiration and motivation works both ways! I am still dropping the lbs, but haven't been monitoring my bp much, i should probably get on that. It doesn't seem like I've lost a lot yet, but then I remember how close i am to my first goal, and every time I get discouraged that i still have 45 lbs to lose i think "Misti, just lost 50 lbs in 5 months, I can do this one step at a time." So that is what am doing! And calorie counting has helped tremendously, I think SO much more about what goes in and it has really been reflected on the scale!

    Misti! You are such a sweetheart :) It is wonderful to know I have your support! Especially because you are such a role model for me - look at how far you've come already!!

    Ryan and I live in Three Rivers now. I actually really like it here, but sometimes I feel a little secluded from family and friends, because I've always lived so close to them! I know I'm not far, but in the past, I've been WAY closer.

    Right now, my biggest struggle is getting a routine going. I am so much more successful in losing weight when I can get myself into a routine. However, being unemployed right now, things are so all over the place. You think it'd be easier to come up with and stick to a routine when I have nothing else on my plate, but for me, it's the complete opposite. I go out of my way to accomplish so much more when I'm busy and have lots to do. When I have nothing to do, that's all I end up doing. So, I guess it's a combo of food and exercise. I always commit myself insanely hardcore in the beginning but that means I also wear myself out quickly. Like, I'll go 2 or 3 weeks eating ONLY healthy food, no slip-ups, working out hard every single day for 2 hours, working my butt off...and then, I decide I deserve a break and never really get back on board. I have a hard time doing things half-ass though, too. Make sense?

    Ryan is very supportive...usually. haha We also are bad with each other sometimes, too. Like, he'll say, "we've been doing such a good job - let's order wings." And I give in. I know he's fed up with his size and inability to do certain things he used to do, too. He just has his own stresses and is so insanely busy that he uses those as excuses. We're all guilty of that...

    I also succeed when I have a workout partner, but Ryan and I disagree about the best time to work out. I like starting my day out with a workout, where Ryan would rather do it at night...which makes sense because he gets up early enough as it is. I hate working out at night. So, just another challenge...lol

    Also, our wedding isn't until NEXT November, so there's even more time to reach my goals! Ideally, I'd like to get down to below 160 (35ish lbs) before I even try on a wedding gown...I hoping that will be before January. Then, before the wedding, I'd love to get down to 140ish. I want to be in the best shape of my life, and I was happiest my senior year of high school when I was about 135. Anywhere in that 130-140ish range would be phenomenal for the wedding. I am hoping that would get me in a size 8 wedding dress, especially since they usually run small. If I could get into a gown in the single digits, I just know how amazing it would feel. I'd be even that more excited about the "Big Day!"

    What have you been doing to be so successful? What do you do for exercise? What kind of diet are you on? Any info would be SUPER helpful!

    Hey! My weekend was good. We didn't do much, because the next few weekends are going to be busy. I have to work both days this weekend, and next probably. Plus there's a company picnic, then a department pig roast. Then after that Joe and I have planned a trip to Louisville to support one of his friend's doing an iron man race, then hopefully home for labor day weekend, then to purdue for their home opener football game. Yup, I'm a busy girl. How are things with you? Sorry I'm not very good at checking my wall regularly. But I do check the team page.
